Breakfast? Oh, you mean coffee.... it's called coffee, it takes the place of food between 6:00am-11:30am weekdays after you turn 25...

I got the newer Red House Painters reissues a few months back and after that I put all my OG copies in archival bags so they won't get any more age or wear on them. If it's that rare in my collection, chances are I haven't even opened it but bought it as part of a collection completion..

I already had to raise my max bid on Field Mouse, due to how little people I see listen to them I'm surprised anyone fought me over $30, I've decided I'll fight someone to 3 figures on this one RAWR!

it's technically death waltz, but that belly of the black tarantula score is awesome. Cool packaging and color combinations too, but the music sounds wonderful. Super creepy at times, and really nice jazz at other times. Still got copies for sale too

The ETID pit was so crazy when I saw them on warped tour that I lost my Thursday trucker hat (think it goes without saying it was circa Gutter Phenomenon, I mean trucker hats were in style)

I think Zach Hill really is the draw, I got a kick out of them doing a whole album with Bjork samples but it was really hard to stomach. I just feel like their gimmick is what can we do to piss people off and how much can we get away with. Honestly outside of the drumming, it's not that innovative, I feel like Dalek covered more ground in the industrial rap genre. He does it more for me, but I get the appeal. I have a friend who has 100% discography on vinyl and has seen them a handful of times, and he swears by them.

This is an interesting turn of events, is this the first time a band has been dropped over twitter comments? Their actions last night were very disappointing to me. I own almost 100% discography from this band, I once traveled over 3 hours round trip to see them perform.I've invested dozens maybe even hundreds of listening hours to their music and Nick's other side projects. But I would have a hard time supporting this band in the future without some kind of public apology, I seriously hope the dude gets a change of heart and learns something from this experience. He is a talented musician and it would be a shame to waste it on pride and a tough asshole internet persona. The internet really has changed the way we interact with the music scene and listen to music. Transparency has altered everything, last night was truly disgusting but there has been so many examples of poor behavior by musicians through the years, there just wasn't always the internet to generate a platform of discussion. I mean Eric Clapton publically declared that England should deport all the blacks on stage at a concert, 3 out of 4 Beatles (not Ringo) beat their wives, Miles Davis was another woman abuser and you never hear "I really love Kind Of Blue, but I just can't listen to it without seperating how he treated women". Some other food for thought, the lead singer of Nothing stabbed a guy to death and it's more concerning to some of you that the bassist made a transphobic tweet (both actions are gross, but im on the side of ending another human's life is worse than degrading another human). I'm not trying to support the actions of nick or this band, and as someone with several trans friends I am seriously bummed by their actions. I wouldn't condemn anyone for not wishing to continue supporting this band, but I really don't understand if you connected with their music why you couldn't separate artist from art at least eventually. I own music from all 3 examples of shitty humans who make good music, doesn't make me a womanizer or a racist just like listening to Whirr doesn't make me transphobic but I'm not rushing to line their pockets from this point forward.

I'm sorry, that is completely fucking absurd. Maybe it's nearly impossible to you to listen to art created by dicks and enjoy it, but you're in the minority. I listen to plenty of Jazz musicians who were unfaithful and abusive to their wives. Hip-hop created by violent thugs. Classical composed by upper class drama queens of questionable morale character. experimental rock created by pompous, pretentious pricks.
It does not affect my enjoyment of the art whatsoever. It is simply laughable to say their art directly comes from their hatred of transgendered people - as if there is nothing else to them besides what you don't like.
Like I said, I think Whirr sucks, but if you can't appreciate art created by morally questionable people, you might be looking for a buddy, not an artist. to me, artists have no obligation to be nice folks who I'd like to get beers with. That's not what I look for in an artist - I look for good music that makes me feel something.
Is sonic youth artistically discredited because Moore was cheating on Gordon? Is "American Pie" a shit song because Don McLean is a notorious asshole? More importantly, who the fuck cares what artists do in their personal lives? Are we not above tabloid-style gossip and witch hunts? Priorities, guys. Jesus.
