And I'm with those just wanting a simple, well-executed vinyl release (if I choose to even buy it). The 10,000 Days CD packaging was obnoxious as fuck.

Then go to the record store and buy normal as fuck yet high quality Tool vinyl.

I just want a simple, standard gram (because its wasteful and serves no additional purpose), cleanly and carefully pressed black vinyl, impeccably mastered (as close to AAA as possible), normal weight basic gatefold, quality printed jacket 2xLP of everything. No Pic disc. No incorporated television. No lenticular cover (though I would forgive it if they worked it into an Aenima reissue). No wifi router. No nothing crazy. Just solid, true to format vinyl pressing that excels at reproducing the stereo master as beautifully as possible when the fuckin' needle touches down and drags through the basic ass grooves of the godforsaken LP. Can I get an Amen or just a plain old delivery on this?

While we wait for any and all preorder links, read this. Pretty amusing and I can relate to the uncertainty that is new TOOL music and album.

Also seems you're reading a bit into him still using the name. It could just be in honor of his highschool friend that he started a band with... the name and band has always been half his, so, sounds like he's free to do with the name what he wants. /shrug

Premium Spotify offers 320kbps as an option and other services like Tidal will match that and offer FLAC with some subscriptions, I think. I don't use streaming services but I'm pretty sure this is the case.

That logo does not represent the new album. It's part of the monster hype machine that they've created. The fact that they've gotten everyone's attention and latched means it worked.

I don’t even want to talk about that logo.  Some gold textures, bevel and emboss, high quality design work from 1995...  but their artwork from 95 was light years better than that thing - yes, even the dick wrench.

You caught us red-handed – these guys are definitely not a thing.  The Tiny Engines pre-order page was just a ruse and we’ve all been horsing around, pretending that the singles exist.  Props on being so astute; I wish more people were aware that bands need at least 50 attendees at a festival before they can be considered more than figments of our imagination.  The ol’ festival popularity golden rule.

Hmm, different sound. Pretty soft song. 

I was really into them up through the 5 releases in 2017, but haven't been motivated to listen to Fishing for Fishies - it just sounds annoying. Every time I'm shuffling my 2019 albums queue and a King Gizz song comes up, I get annoyed and skip it. Not really interested in thrash from them, either.
 
Of the 5-album streak I really liked the songwriting and variety on Microtonal, Sketches, and Polygondwanaland. 

I agree 100 percent.  That fishies nonsense  and now thrash is just a band trying to "branch out" and not doing it well. 
 
All we need next is a gizzard hip hop to drive this final nail into coffin.
 
This band was excellent with float along, fuzz, nonganon, banana,  poly and gumboot.
 
The rest of the stuff is pretty tacky and generic
 
 
 
 

No we can't. Polywala is their best sound, this is just Gizzard does speed metal.
