I have no horse in this race...I'm not over the top about this band. BUT. I've been keeping this in for a while now and just recently shared it with someone from VC.
 
When I went to see Pity Sex and Petal down here last year...I think it was last year...PWR BTTM were one of the openers. I was right up front the whole night b/c I'm really into PS and Petal. So. When PWR BTTM were playing, their entire set during their between-song banter, they were of course praising Queer Culture/Lifestyle (apologies if that's not the proper terminology but for this post to me, also includes gay, trans, etc.), which I am was glad to hear and see and cheered on. But on an odd flipside, they were also bashing on anyone non-queer/gay/trans/etc. and borderline inciting violence against them. But in their I'd guess "joking manner". I honestly felt uncomfortable during their entire set as more than on one occasion during it, I was being squinted at by the band. I know I'm not that hard to blend in being a burly (slight overweight) and bearded dude. Sure, they had no way on knowing I'm a hetero male, but shit, I felt like I had a target on my back for some reason. Felt like guilty for being hetero.
 
This doesn't anything whatsoever to what's been developing with the band currently and the allegations. But damnit...needed to share and just get it  off my chest. Hell...even my friend who I was with that night, who stood towards the back of the crowd, saw all of this going on and she thought (as she told me) that I was going to get my ass kicked that night just for being a dude.

It seems PWR BTTM need to fire James Comey.

I was able to cancel my BSM order last night before it got sent out, but I have the tapes sitting back home in the States from Polyvinyl which I'm gonna want nothing to do with now. They were also one of my favorite up-and-coming acts and everything about this is awful.  With all the shit that's gone down over the last 24 hours I think it's pretty safe to say they're done for, and rightly so.

The universe is a simulation. But the lead guy from Massive Attack is real.

Wow I forgot to mention that the TTA Map of What Is Effortless came in at the beginning of the month. It's in tip-top shape!

the clark/com show was cool, a bit odd that clark played before com (his set was way heavier) so it was a bit hard to focus by the time seth came on
 
the split is $20 so I passed with ease. he also has galactic melt and most of the iteration merch. Clark had his last 4 albums with him.

And neither are any of the Gorillaz.  Everyone is just pretending to listen to the music, it's not real.

No way.  You've gotta be fucking kidding me.  My whole entire life I thought cartoon characters all lived on their own island somewhere and that's why I, or anyone else has seen them before other than on TV/movies/online.
 
This is like finding out Santa Clause isn't real all over again...

All three Colleen reissues, one from Norman Records (UK) and the other two from Graveface's Discogs storefront (US). A Cracked Actor from the always-reliable Juno (UK), and An SDRE from 1-2-3-4 Go! (US, first-time purchase). Everything came in decent shape. There might be the tiniest amount of creasing on the corners of Cracked Actor but that has more to do with the too-tight sealing job for its tri-fold sleeve than anything else.

I once placed an order and it took 4 months for them to refund me. It was for 3 Dillinger Escape plan albums with which they listed the variants and had pictures of the colors also. They arrived and were not the ones listed with which they said they aren't responsible for color differences. I told them that each variant had their own SKU and they had pictures and sent them back and never heard a word for 4 months and it was only after me threatening to do a charge-back via my CC company over 4 times before they responded. Literally the worst company I have ever purchased from I absolutely hate them and will never buy from them. 

I work at a grocery store and the corporate playlist whatever changed recently. No more Kiss from a Rose.
 
But around Christmas I got to hear Love Will Tear Us Apart followed by Frosty the Snowman...so that was fun.  Plus, there's a few Smiths songs and that one Butthole Surfers song. 
 
Don't hate on Kiss from a Rose tho. I rid myself of Batman Forever nostalgia a long time ago (that movie was a god damn mess) but that song fucking rules.
 
Honestly they SHOULD press that soundtrack just so it can go in a museum. It's a perfect little 90s time capsule.

The Flaming Lips track was killer. 

But does it have an equivalent to the Seal track? Because that shit was dope. It was no Kiss from a Rose, but still.

Like I seriously unironically love Kiss from a Rose. The Batman Forever soundtrack was fucking weird.

Seriously allllll the Amnesiac B-sides are so great though.

This is my feeling as well. I hope they continue to do this going forward and go back to do a  set of the Bends and its b-sides. 
 
I hope they include the single artwork in the book. I love the artwork from this era.

All three of those bands legitimately sick, and people who still listen to them should be sterilized.

Been a huge Gorillaz fan for 16 years now and after spinning this for a week I will officially say Im let down.  I should have known better too after listening to Plastic Beach.  That was the downfall of Gorillaz.  First two LPs are great and I even enjoy G Sides and Demon Days outtakes and The Fall.  This was a surprise to me too because the five singles they released before hand were excellent.  But the rest is garbage.  Sex Murder Party, Money, and Blue are cringe worthy.  The rest is just filler.  Happy I didn’t pre-order this and happy I didn’t grab tickets to their Philly show this summer.  Luckily I got to see gorillaz twice in 2010 and that was enough.  Only thing better than that (goirllaz related) was seeing Deltron 3030 live.  Now that was an experience and they even closed with Clint Eastwood.

I'm a film PhD. In one class that my colleagues TAed, around 2014 or 2015, the students voted for their favourite film to be screened and for there to be a lecture and reading about it. These 3rd-year students chose Space Jam. The prof, a bit of a snob, said no and there nearly was a riot. They got their way and there happens to be one half-decent academic article written about it. *emoji shrug*
 
The Blade Runner was a picture disc, so no dice for me. Plus finding the inferior New American Orchestra version in used bins is fairly ordinary so I'm not sure about the demand
I'd love a vinyl boxset of the 25th Anniversary 3CD some day but that might have to wait for the 40th anniversary of the film... Hopefully not the 50th.

I love how Space Jam OST has become the most ideologically decisive RSD release of 2017. 

Not sure if anyone besides me ordered Relationship of Command (ATDI) from the eBay seller shoppingmadeeasy2. If you did, let me know if you had a similar experience:
1) Vinyl shipped from overseas (AUS) with no tracking #. Okay.
2) Shipping time was over a month. Sure. It's Australia.
3) Package arrived yesterday. I ordered two copies of the vinyl. The package that arrived was... about 6 inches by 6 inches. And contained.... ONE CD.
4) Immediately opened a return. They accepted, but their "return label" was just instructions to return it to their CA warehouse at my expense, with a shipping receipt so they can "reimburse" me for the return shipping cost.
 
I mean, between PayPal and eBay, I'm covered here.  And since I ordered back in March, apparently import copies are back on the market cheap, so I'm not angry I missed out on a "great deal." But just the level of screw-up here.... I honestly can't tell if they were trying to intentionally scam people (and made a tidy profit even with 50% returns) or someone really screwed up in the shipping dept.
Either way, buyer beware with these guys in the future. (Their rating is +43,222 for what it's worth.)
