morfiend got a reaction from thenameisluigi in Official Record Store Day Thread
I'll try and attend at least one of these dates but it's not just about the limited releases for me anymore. The last 5 years or so I've taken my Dad to a couple of shops and we grab a beer and lunch after. We don't stand in line or anything, we tend to shop in the afternoon and usually there's a RSD release or 2 we were looking for along with some used stuff we end up grabbing. If we miss anything I just go online and grab them on discogs the week after. My Mom has even started framing the exclusive RSD posters my Dad picks up while we're out. So yeah, it's become more of a father and son thing over the years, which is awesome and we both look forward to it every year.

morfiend got a reaction from Seanbo in PO NOW: ELDER - OMENS (out: 04/24/2020)
This album is definitely growing on me with each listen. I'm not bothered at all by the vocals, in fact, I think they're a slight improvement over previous albums. I like the proggy elements they've added as well, it's nice Elder can continue to still sound like themselves but also evolve and not get stale. Looking forward to when my vinyl copy arrives.

In the meantime, we’re going to get back to making our new record, and look forward to being back on a stage as soon as we can.

They’re playing Roadburn this year and just announced a warm up gig in LA in April. I’m glad they’re finally active again.

Cranked the VMP edition the other day and it sounds fantastic. I couldn't be happier with the sound and the packaging is really cool too. It was a long time coming but this release was well worth the wait.

It’s his company dude, don’t give me that. I’m not a huge fan of Sawant but at least she’s carrying the flag to force companies like Amazon to pay liveable wages to employees.

It's a double edged sword when there are two choices: either support the not very good incumbent that Amazon also doesn't like policy-wise or the alternate/opposition. It is annoying that Orion decided to address his Amazon funding right at the end of the race.

A pressing of the box set or the best of the box would be neat. But I still just want a 1LP pressing of the Devonshire mixes.

Is this satire? Bezos ain't going to fuck you, dude.

Because Amazon doesn't really take care of its employees despite making billions. Also, on a micro level, they eat sales away from smaller record retailers.

Such a great underrated album. I bought the OG used for $9.99 years ago but this reissue is tempting.

This is a really good record. I was gonna pick up a copy on black but the more I listen to it the more I want the box set. They play Seattle next month so I’m hoping to talk one of my musical eclectic friends into going.

They have a festival going on right now so I’m sure they’re quite busy. I’ve ordered from them lots of times with no problems.

It’s not sold out, this is a US preorder today. International is tomorrow so read the Facebook post carefully.

morfiend got a reaction from mrdoctor in [PO Soon] TOOL - Fear Inoculum 5x12" w/etching ULTRA-DELUXE BOX SET AT THE LOW LOW PRICE of $810...cuz TOOL hates their fans and someone needs to maintain Maynard's Vineyards
The new record is brilliant and my expectations were a little low since I was fairly disappointed with 10,000 Days (to be fair it was because Lateralus was so good and so hard to top). Tracks 2-5 especially just hit on every level for me and I avoided any live spoilers so they were all new to me. The production is awesome, it sounds like you’re in the room with the band. Looks like they’re not coming to Seattle or Portland so hopefully another leg is on the horizon.

Pretty sure Kim Thayil has been the one going through the archives and working on the Soundgarden catalog. I guess the wife is an easy target though.

Because we should all believe everything we read on the internet. I haven’t seen one ounce of credible journalism when it comes to pointing the finger at Vicky for Chris’s death. Alternative Nation is a joke, I’ve never seen so many misleading headlines from a music site before. If anyone has milked Chris’s death it’s Alternative Nation. Anyways, back on topic from here on out from me, sorry.
