April is far and away his greatest release IMO, RHP included. Ghosts, while great, has too much filler. On April, every single song is essential and hits with force and beauty. The sequencing is also great, with Heron Blue offering a crucial pivoting point to the entire album.

I love Ghosts but am I the only one who thinks that April was his high point?

I guess I finally realized today that I really, really hate all of Mark's new music. It's not necessarily the rambling, but the bitterness that I can't stand. I could handle sad Mark, but old angry Mark annoys the hell out of me. It's like hanging out with a coworker that won't stop complaining.

They definitely used to do colors mail order only. Not really sure when/if that changed. Maybe they distribute some them if they aren't selling out on the site.

Is it bad that I want to buy this like 90% just for the 45 adapter?

They posted about it to fb shortly after I noticed them and they probably all sold right then.

Glad I could help some people get copies!

I completely lucked out finding them. Decided I needed this on vinyl last night (I have the tape, but it doesn't cut it) and searched to see who had it cheapest. Was so stoked when I saw that they had the white jackets for sale, then I noticed the price. Seriously had to debate whether I wanted to spend half as much for the standard version, which still looks nice. And I'm assuming they both sound the same since they were pressed around the same time. But then I noticed the labels on the numbered edition and decided they look pretty sharp, so I used that as justification lol. I don't know how long they were even up. Bought my copy at like 9:00 last night and I figured they'd be gone before I could post about it here this morning. Guess word caught on after I left for work!

I am loving this new Drab album. Them are Us constantly goes from in/out of stock on the Dais site. Black is actually available now.  Very good album, tragic shame about Cash though. I'd push the s/t Youth Code just because I like the rawer sound a bit more for them. I also dig Body of Light's last 2 couple albums a ton. They are more dancy industrial/ebm influenced than DM or TAUT so it won't be for everybody. But overall Dais has been putting out some quality releases and keeping their roster styles varied enough to be interesting.

I'm really hoping that "Fragile: Deviations 1" leads to "TDS: Deviations 2", "With Teeth: Deviations 3" and so on rather than potentially another Fragile Deviations.

I get the idea of buying direct for smaller artists, but local shops are in more need than Trent Reznor

I have no complaints with private sellers selling things for that they are worth. In this particular case i just found it astonishing how many of them were already for sale. I don't recall the last time i've seen nearly a quarter of a records stock for sale within weeks of release. I'm sure some a few are from a  people who just didn't like the record or need holiday cash. And they will get what they paid for it back which is great.  But a lot of these are from the flipper population that silently stalks around here trying to make a quick buck. And they are barely breaking even off of these after fees which is even better.

Great band. I grabbed the blue this morning. I didn't even think to post it here as I forget there is at least some interest in acts like this. I'm still looking for an original black version of their first LP (saw a 4th repress of that came out today as well).

Yes that's the bearing at the bottom of the spindle and yes it should be removable but there is no real need to remove it but they are a push fit.
You can replace them with ruby ones but unless you are going to do a lot of other upgrades and the rest of your system is up to it I doubt you will gain much from it, chances are a clean, re oil and a new belt will yield much more benefit.

I can't remember how many system decks I've owned over the years but most of them have left me upgraded in some way. I've replaced the platters with thick acrylic ones, replaced the base boards with acrylic ones, made new armboards, replaced the arms, rewired the arms, replaced the motors with DC ones and made new power supplies (both AC and DC for them), I've never felt the need to replace a bearing once except when the whole bearing assembly has been worn but the ball is usually the last thing to wear.
