The preorder implied these would be the complete studio recordings (turned out that wasn’t the case) on 180 gram vinyl (which apparently isn’t the case). When you charge upwards of 400 + shipping for what’s basically six albums and some extras it’s not that weird that people expect to receive a product as advertised. Especially since we all know the whole 180 grams thing is usually an excuse for companies to actually charge more for a record in the first place.
 
Meanwhile, what really bothers me is that I preordered this thing the day it went up, have not received it yet (or even got shipping confirmation for that matter) while my local record store was selling it on Friday for a slightly lower price than I paid.

The purple seems to be exclusive to the shop and the black should hit US distros later, but will probably be as hard to come by as the last one was.

What surprises me is that two of the three half/half variants still sold out after the quantity was doubled.

Wouldn’t a lot of people cancel their preorders if individual releases are announced? Especially if they’re colored variants. Only reason I ordered the box is that I want these records on vinyl. Could definitely do without the etchings, book, pins etc. though. 

What else can it be? Here is this thing we're offering, with your money you're getting an album that is pressed on this specific quantity, in this specific color. Label/band sells more quickly than they thought, so they change those details after a ton of people already paid for a specific set of details. While this exact instance is pretty benign, it happened, none the less. And sure, maybe that wasn't the initial plan, but here we are...
 
If the label/band thinks that might happen, then just be up front about it. Here are these records, we'll let you PO for a week and then press some magical number once we can gauge interest. Or, what most labels do, here are these /250 variants, oh shit, you guys bought them all, here is a different /250 variant.

Not including the Frances song would be so incredibly lame given a) the price of this box and b) the fact that it contains like three etched sides.

Came across this on Bandcamp. Wasn’t familiar with this band at all but ordered a copy. Good stuff!

Same here. Who ships records like this? I paid $60 for shipping to Europe and ended up with one damaged corner for the box set and three nasty seam splits since every record was shipped inside the sleeve. No bubble wrap or anything either.

The new Spirit Adrift record that came out today is so fucking good.  Currently my AOTY and is going to be hard to beat.
