the 30-second clips have me very excited for this release. i'd guess that the single appears to be one of the most generic songs on the album. a few tracks even have "vocals"

There was about 5 copies of Lincoln Park at my first stop and all 5 were still there as I left. That made me pretty proud of my town. 

comments like this are one of the reasons as to why labels think it is okay to charge $30 for releases. just because songs haven't been pressed on vinyl does not mean they should cost more.

$27 dollars divided by 18 tracks = $1.50 per track. I am not gonna lie and say the price is not above average but its far from their most unreasonable price. Go ahead and get it off ebay later. Seriously nobody is stopping you and if you get it cheaper than you sir are a smart consumer. The facts are just there though. Its a fairly fair price. I talk about the quality of the release considering the gatefold, the book like insert, and the fact SRC have a history of fairly good pressings. 
Tell you what you go and find it on ebay before the end of the year for less than 30 dollars (taking shipping into consideration) and I will buy you a free record $20 or less.

i'd pick up portrait and smells like children. i'm always on the fence when it comes to liking mechanical animals and holy wood. each of them have a few jams but i can never listen to them front to back without skipping half of the album.

Portrait of an American Family and Smells Like Children reissues would be the tits!

EDIT:  I'm currently spinning side B.  The sound on this record is absolutely stunning!  The soundstage is massive, the clarity is pristine and it sounds VERY analog.  I have no clue how this could be as I would expect this to be a totally digital recording.  No digital nasties on this one guys. I could barely read the mastering credits but it is Tom Baker at Future Disc Systems I think...font is really small.  Mad props guy!

I think I read somewhere that they got 250 of the 500 copies pressed.
