!! He was really friendly and awesome.  I'm from CT ( as you could probs tell ) and was planning a trip to Portland so I told him that and he made room for me in his schedule  and it worked out really nicely.

The healing process was different from all of my other big tattoos cause it's just black.  It barely peeled, didn't scab over at all, but itched a lot more than my large color pieces on the other arms.  Most of my tattoos didn't itch much so this was new to me.  Anyways it healed very quickly and perfectly, not one blemish and it's as black as black goes still.  Took like 10 days.
I got that small ghost a few days later on my leg and that literally took twice as long to heal..
 

 
 

Holy shit, I can't believe you got something from Kyle. He's near the top of my list of people I want to get tattooed by someday. This especially is beautiful, I love his night skies with the white stars. How did it heal up?? Care to post any healed pics?

I heard that the scratches from the Diskeeper sleeves come from the "c" that fell off the name and floats loosely in every inner sleeve.
 
I also heard that this is all hyper-vigilant over-thinking and that most likely people are just seeing their records in a different angle/light and seeing normal hairline marks that are already there.

1st of two 3.5h sessions last week on this piece, starting to cover up my first tattoo. Second session early next month, can't wait to get this finished!

myles karr (who has done a bunch of my work) has been doing this rad crazy mashup dice roll game called The Most Dangerous Game...got to go see him and roll some dice a couple months ago and wound up with this crazy tiger nurse.

first roll I got the tiger...second roll determines how to modify the design and I got a three-way mashup...next 2 rolls got me a traditional nurse and that bird with the sword and the worm. myles threw them all together and this is what happened haha. he is so weird I fucking love him.

and then like a month or so ago I impulsively decided to get this little PBR/Almost People tattoo...inspired by their song Eleventh Beer and decided upon after drinking about eleven beers that day haha

Digging these 2 especially. I've been following Laughingloone on IG for a while, unfortunately missed their visit to Portland last fall (I'm in Seattle but would have made plans to go down). I've seen the cat before but didn't recall the artist's name. It's another style I really like.

Does anyone have a lead on that Covers EP they put out in the past month or so? I'm dying to hear them cover We Didn't Start the Fire.

The jacket on my copy of XO was poorly glued and fell apart not long after I got it so I emailed them and asked if they had any extras. Long story short, I sent mine back and received copy #420 in exchange. Wondering if they kept it sitting around, or if they stamped an extra specifically for me. Pretty fuckin' funny. nonetheless.

random story time... i've seen TA three times before, opening for other bands (circa survive and envy). always thought they were good and admired their energy, but never really listened to any of their recordings. my wife and i ran into jeremy and clayton outside of a local record shop (Vinal Edge) before the show tonight--we were across the street getting coffee, and i thought i recognized jeremy from a distance... walked over and sure enough... i asked 'em what time they were going on because we were running a little behind. they were supposed to go on in about an hour and asked if we could give them a ride to the venue because Uber rides were like 30 bucks (there was an Astros game and I think maybe a Rockets game too going on at around the same time). we had to move carseats, but it was no problem. SUPER nice guys. it was a lot of fun talking to them during the ~15 minute drive to the venue. when we got there, they got our names and told us that their manager/merch guy would hook us up. boy did he...
they put on a killer show!! and i can't wait to give these a spin.
