For anybody who was wondering, these are shipping from Modesto, CA. Crazy for me, because I grew up in a town about 5 min south of there and had never once heard of these guys! And damn, I would have definitely heard of them!! Interesting...

Definitely my top five as well, so far.  I knew it was good the first time I played it, but its lasting power has really impressed me.  If anything, it only gets better and better.  Easily my favorite album of 2013 to drive around with, especially with this summer weather.

Yes sir! I have received this copy of Illumination Ritual. Awesome to see how well received this album has become! Between the first retail pressing ( /1200), the 180g mailorder version ( /500), and the Record Club version ( /300), this record sold all 2,000 in basically no time at all! This second retail pressing is on Swamp Green and Aqua Blue with a pressing of 1000. It's beautiful!! If you've yet to purchase this record, I'd highly recommend snagging this variant!

Got this the other day. It's pretty neat, will probably be doing the Whirr one as well.

To be fair, no one is making you do anything. If you have minimum prices in mind why don't you do some sort of starting price so we all don't waste each others time? I felt my offer was fair for the record I wanted, but since you are leaning towards ebay prices that may be the best way to go. Maybe you can make even more than you had hoped for?

In summation, to say that something is your 'white whale,' is to say that this thing (person, record, etc) is something you chase to the point of obsession, but in the end, never get.
 
So, yes, the OP should have titled this thread, "What are those hard to find La Dispute releases you're craving this week but will forget about it in two years?"

I agree that Clear will probably go first. I hope its Ultra Clear and not milky like some others.
 
Perhaps the quantity is due to anticipation of both groups of fans from Deftones/Team Sleep/Crosses fans and Isis/Red Sparowes fans all coalescing to go nuts on these.

200 pressed in '00 by crawlspace records in new zealand. never seen one for sale. been looking for 4 years, every single day.
I've contacted the band, people that helped record the album, the owner of the label and his brother, and all 8 people who have it on discogs.
no one will sell it. actually, user awesomeo4000 got one last year. not sure how, but he's an aussie so I'm sure his chances were better anyway.
at this point I'm willing to pay or trade nearly anything for it.

Oooh, surprise surprise!

I still don't get the point. Also who are The Wonder Years, I've never even heard of them.

I just opened and checked 4 copies of the record for the D side issue. 
They all played fine, with no issues.  
 
 
This is something that could happen with any record, sometimes the needle will just chill on the edge before it catches the groove.  This is due mainly to chaos theory...
 

woah, and i thought it was bad driving a little more than an hour from winchester, va to check a show in DC/Baltimore. Might have to go back up for that GFE show though.
 
And Strange Matter is the shit man. I've only been for the Ty Segall/Oh Sees show last year, but it was awesome.

Traveling to see Gifts From Enola's Swan Song/ Farewell show in Harrisonburg (3 1/2 hrs) in a couple of weeks.
