Family Friendly Rap God
Universal still owns the rights to a Hulk stand alone film. Plus they said the jet he was in crash landed near Fiji. Also, it would most likely take Mark Ruffalo out of the picture which has made this version of Hulk much better than the previous incarnations. Damn any idea on when that expires? I love Mark Ruffalo as Hulk but if I rembwr correctly didn't the Planet Hulk storyline take place during Civil War? Civil War has begun production. And the cast is STACKED. http://marvel.com/news/movies/24586/marvel_studios_begins_production_on_marvels_captain_america_civil_war Marvel Studios has commenced principal photography at Pinewood Studios in Atlanta, Georgia on “Captain America: Civil War,” the third installment of its Super Hero franchise. The production will shoot on location in Atlanta, Georgia, which serves as the base for the film’s production, as well as locations in Germany, Puerto Rico and Iceland. Set for release in the United States on May 6, 2016, “Captain America: Civil War” is directed by Anthony and Joe Russo (Marvel’s “Captain America: The Winter Soldier,” “Community”) from a screenplay by Christopher Markus & Stephen McFeely (“Captain America: The Winter Solider,” Marvel’s “Captain America: The First Avenger”). The film returns Chris Evans (“Captain America: The Winter Soldier,” Marvel’s “Avengers: Age of Ultron”) as the iconic Super Hero character Steve Rogers/Captain America along with Robert Downey Jr. (“Avengers: Age of Ultron,” Marvel’s “Iron Man 3”) as Tony Stark/Iron Man, Scarlett Johansson (“Avengers: Age of Ultron,” “Captain America: The Winter Soldier”) as Natasha Romanoff/Black Widow, Sebastian Stan (“Captain America: The Winter Soldier,” “Captain America: The First Avenger”) as Bucky Barnes/Winter Soldier, Anthony Mackie (“Avengers: Age of Ultron,” “Captain America: The Winter Soldier”) as Sam Wilson/Falcon, Paul Bettany (“Avengers: Age of Ultron,” “Iron Man 3”) as The Vision, Jeremy Renner (“Avengers: Age of Ultron,” Marvel’s “The Avengers”) as Clint Barton/Hawkeye, Don Cheadle (“Avengers: Age of Ultron,” “Iron Man 3”) as Jim Rhodes/War Machine and Elizabeth Olsen (“Avengers: Age of Ultron,” “Godzilla”) as Wanda Maximoff/Scarlet Witch. After his debut in Marvel’s “Ant-Man” on July 17, 2015, Paul Rudd (“Ant-Man,” ”Anchorman 2: The Legend Continues”) will make his first appearance alongside the Avengers as Scott Lang/Ant-Man in “Captain America: Civil War.” The film also includes outstanding additional cast, including Chadwick Boseman (“42,” “Get on Up”) as T’Challa/Black Panther, Emily VanCamp (“Captain America: The Winter Soldier,” “Revenge”) as Sharon Carter/Agent 13, Daniel Brühl (“Inglourious Basterds,” “Bourne Ultimatum”), Frank Grillo (“Captain America: The Winter Soldier,” “Warrior”) as Brock Rumlow/Crossbones, William Hurt (“A History of Violence,” Marvel’s “The Incredible Hulk”) as General Thaddeus “Thunderbolt” Ross and Martin Freeman (“The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey,” “The Hobbit: The Battle of the Five Armies”). “Captain America: Civil War” picks up where “Avengers: Age of Ultron” left off, as Steve Rogers leads the new team of Avengers in their continued efforts to safeguard humanity. After another international incident involving the Avengers results in collateral damage, political pressure mounts to install a system of accountability and a governing body to determine when to enlist the services of the team. The new status quo fractures the Avengers while they try to protect the world from a new and nefarious villain. Marvel’s “Captain America: Civil War” is produced by Marvel Studios’ president, Kevin Feige, with Louis D’Esposito, Alan Fine, Victoria Alonso, Patricia Whitcher, Nate Moore and Stan Lee serving as executive producers. Directors Joe and Anthony Russo’s creative team also includes director of photography Trent Opaloch (“Captain America: The Winter Soldier,” “Elysium”), production designer Owen Paterson (“Godzilla,” “Matrix”), and three time Oscar®-nominated costume designer Judianna Makovsky (“Captain America: The Winter Soldier,” “Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone”). Based on the Marvel comic character first published in 1941, “Captain America: Civil War ” continues the lineage of epic big-screen adventures chronicled in “Iron Man,” “The Incredible Hulk,” “Iron Man 2,” “Thor,” “Captain America: The First Avenger,” “Marvel's The Avengers,” “Iron Man 3,” “Thor: The Dark World,” “Captain America: The Winter Soldier,” “Guardians of the Galaxy,” “Avengers: Age of Ultron” and the upcoming release schedule, which includes Marvel’s “Ant-Man” on July 17, 2015, Marvel’s “Doctor Strange,” on November 4, 2016, Marvel’s “Guardians of the Galaxy 2,” on May 5, 2017, and Marvel’s “Thor: Ragnarok,” on November 3, 2017. Marvel Studios most recently continued its unprecedented success with the release of “Avengers: Age of Ultron” on May 1, 2015. The film recorded the second biggest opening weekend of all time with a $191.3 million box office. It has also been the #1 release in every country where it has been released. On day 1, the box itself feels a bit too "plasticky", but overall a really nice package. And phase 2 technically isn't over yet.
slinch
Speaking of, I just got the blufans Thor steelbook in, so my steel set is almost complete. Only missing Iron Man 2, but the film really isn't worth spending the $80+ the steel sells for. Also, I'm no longer a picture disc, finally! slinch
They apparently made a new package for it after a lawsuit. Yeah, it was originally supposed to come out in September 2012, but since they made the briefcase to look exactly like the one in the film without getting the license they had to scrap it (they were already manufactured) and make a new one. So it was delayed till April 2013. Though to make up for the wait amazon gave a free copy of the Avengers bluray to everyone who preordered (even though it wasn't amazon's fault). It came in a really nice slip too The original box actually looked a lot better: https://youtu.be/FD5sQIV-D5U?t=50s this was the release version: https://youtu.be/ip-k8MLf5J0?t=1m34s
Tawney Bomb
Civil War looks stacked! It'd be a nice surprise if they do want Spidey in and can keep it under wraps.
thebiglebowski
A week late to the party so mostly just repeating things but agree with them really making Hawkeye into an awesome character in this one. Constantly just smashing cities and throwing cars around across multiple movies was gonna get old fast. Thought it was a bit less funny than the first but still decently funny. Anyone heard of "rods from god?" That's what Ultron's plan reminded me of: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kinetic_bombardment On the trailers, F4 looked better than I expected and Ant-Man looked kinda shitty. We'll see how it shakes out, though. Planet Hulk would never work. The whole thing would basically have to be CGI. I believe it did happen during Civil War, though. Hulk returning is what ended Civil War and brought on World War Hulk, if I'm remembering correctly. With the way they left with the Hulk in AoU, it seems like he could end up playing a similar role in Cap 3.
thebiglebowski
As Hawkeye pointed out, clearly there's some weird stuff going on in the Avengers world and it's not realistic. Still, there's a plot loophole that might bug some science geeks in this movie: The amount of energy that it would take to lift a rock into the atmosphere would exceed the amount released on it's impact. It's like someone using nuclear energy to move a rock into space and drop it when they could just set it off
slinch
I understood it as Ultron just wanting to re-create an extinction-level event that is similar to those Earth saw in the past, e.g. a large rock wiping out most living organisms. He didn't care about efficiency, but symbolism.
thebiglebowski
he just wanted to end humanity in any way possible. Jarvis was the only thing stopping him from gaining control of the world's nukes, in which case that would have been his main strategy. At least, that's how I read into what I saw onscreen. Breezus
^ Yeah, Crossbones looks badass. Finally saw AoU (ultra-late to the party, I know) and I loved it. I was surprised that they added so much comic relief during the action scenes but I thought that was pretty cool. Also nice to see Hawkeye getting more character development. And Ultron was not the villain I expected at all but he was really great. Civil War has begun production. 3arl
Wish they would have brought Thomas Jane back as the Punisher. I never understood the hate that movie gets. I've always really enjoyed it and thought Jane was really good, but it would've made sense to bring him back for this, especially since War Zone happened between then and now.
