suchashorttime
This is probably the most accurate description of Benji yet... And the reason why I can't get into it, despite the glowing reviews. Sorry, when you're taking lyrical cues from the man who wrote (and I quote): "This band played at the Metro/ About 200 people were at the show/ The rock show was awesome/ It whooped a pony's ass/ Hootie & The Blowfish!!!! (repeat 4x)" Not a far stretch from that to "The War On Drugs Can Suck My Cock"... i am dying laughing. this is the best description of sun kil moon's newer material. not that it really detracts from how great it is, because it IS really good. there are some hilariously similar lyrical comparisons. i like just about anything kozelek puts out in a sincere way. but yea. definitely wesley willis. Stravinsky
He completely lost me with that whole WOD thing. Very hypocritical statements coming from a dude who fought a record label to keep the excessively long guitar jams. Rock over London. Rock on Chicago... Ron Don Volante
So, so psyched for this. On a related note, what are the odds of Red House Painters records getting repressed? I don't know the story behind that. Bawled my eyes out listening to Katy Song last night and remembered how much i wanted those albums on vinyl. I don't know the story behind that. Bawled my eyes out listening to Katy Song last night and remembered how much i wanted those albums on vinyl. No 4AD stuff ever seems to get repressed. Even the CDs of RHP are hard to find new now. I sucked it up and grabbed Ocean Beach 2X10" when I saw it for (just) under $100. I'd be in for a complete box set but I get the feeling it will never ever happen... 4AD doesn't care about reissues and MK *really* doesn't care about reissues. Tommy
He'd be one of the weirdest dudes to have a beer with. He is definitely "interesting". A friend of mine has hooked up with him and I learned that he exclusively takes baths, not showers.

BeardedSteven
Very stoked for this. Big Benji fan. As a grumpy middle aged guy myself that shouldn't be surprising. I hope he keeps up the good work.

suchashorttime
I'm not expecting the Lp to be around for a few months. Maybe July / August. Then again, I have nothing to base that guess on. What do I know.
timsimmons
If he got the LP version out by July Aug, that would be one of the quickest pressing this dude has done. I'm expecting it around the holidays.
moodist
If Rough Trade are involved I expect the vinyl will be released the same time as the CD. I can't see them letting Mark dick around on this as he's done before. I also wager they'll also have some RT exclusive item to go along with it. Maybe even an instore. radiatorhums
I'd be rather pleased if the LP was out the same time the CD was. Based on the past, I don't expect it to happen though.

GreatGreenOne77
So good. The part with the banjo is beautiful. Agreed. I hadn't been sold on getting the new album until I heard this track, so I clicked over to Caldo and pre-ordered it.
