jhulud
Let's add more drama to this...apparently and hand-numbered black vinyl version will be available at the SSTB shows only. So...who's going and would be kind enough to get me one?

monsterrod
A tour version with 1,000 copies. Something tells me there will be a couple left over for purchase online after the tour wraps up.
mcpherson123
What a bunch of fuckbags. I'll get whichever one is easiest to come by but this whole limited/exclusive/tacking-on-a-bunch-of-useless-crap-to-boost-the-price business is getting super old. dethrock
And of course they don't bother mentioning the tour version until after the pre-order is almost sold out.
blanketbyday
Wait, Are you guys really upset that they are doing a special edition for people that make it out to the shows? Didn't Defeater do the same thing?
Shitty Rambo
Why does Coheed And Cambria hate their fans?
daniel
I'm gonna call Merch Now tomorrow and have them cancel my deluxe order since I can't make it to the show. I'll pick up the retail version in the future and be happy with that.
spoonbill
Wait, Are you guys really upset that they are doing a special edition for people that make it out to the shows? mcpherson123
And its the least rare because its the most expensive. It is the most disgusting exercise in bullshit since the early 90's version of the Fantastic Four movie. They know most people are going to pay all that extra just to get the 7" and then pretend like all the extra shit is even close to necessary and even close to worth the price tag. Bullshit. tokimedo
Why does Coheed And Cambria hate their fans? even more than glassjaw
mcpherson123
NO WAY!!!! No band hates their fans more than Glassjaw. Coheed is a close second.
tokimedo
i dunno...its VERY close. id even be interested in starting a poll to find out who hates their fans more. hahaha.

serum7
Why does Coheed And Cambria hate their fans? I think it's funny everyone assumes the BAND is handling the stuff this way. Equal Vision isn't stupid, they know people will pay for Coheed stuff with a "limited" tag on it. "Limited" packages of every release since Good Apollo 1 (Last Supper pre-order, No World pre-order, Neverender set, Black Rainbow Ltd. ed) have basically sold out. Not defending this stuff, just remember there are whole promotions/marketing departments behind everything.
mcpherson123
This is a very good point and is more than likely the case with Coheed. However, since Glassjaw has been DIY for such a long time now, I think our minds are just kind of stuck in that mode of thinking. With Glassjaw it IS a direct hatred for fans because they are the ones themselves who are putting the stuff out. With Coheed its more than likely label made decisions. tokimedo
im sure the band has a say though
mcpherson123
Its hard to say, you know? You always hear about labels who own the rights doing all kinds of shit despite the wishes of the band. Its hard to tell who's really responsible for what.
jhulud
It'd be safe to assume that the band was involved in this reissue in all its formats. They'd have to be not only for that tour-only #d version but also that VIP green version since it does include that VIP pass to get into the venues earlier in the tour. Just my guess... I'd also venture to guess that if they really cared, they could have stopped the over-commercialization of this release. At least they could have made an effort to stop it and then notified their fans to not buy in to it.
