apirk
It kind of sucked that like 80% of the stuff went up during the day.
bathroommonkey
I didn't buy anything, nor did i see much that I actually wanted. Overall I had fun hoping for something good and talkin' shit in this thread, so a win.
billya
Kudos to Jack White and Co for being able to get hype for their products this way.
BuzzersonKillwell
Kudos to Jack White and Co for being able to get hype for their products this way. Pretty much this. People are falling over themselves to pay absurd prices for things.
billya
Pretty much this. People are falling over themselves to pay absurd prices for things. Yeah. The best part is that since there is hype they can charge a premium, then flippers get it and can still up the prices for people who are mad that they missed that 1 second window of time to grab it. dreamover
The fact is, Jack keeps just about every piece of vinyl (save a b-side or two and the vault stuff that's initially available to everyone) in print. The music is always available on high-quality 180 gram vinyl. The colors are rare and it's fun to collect, but the music is still there. Can you imagine if he limited his records to a few thousand? They'd all be worth a ton more. There aren't many labels these days that keep everything in print or a label doing as much to keep vinyl alive as third man. 3fingersdown and bathroommonkey
3fingersdown
Pretty much! If you want to listen to Third Man stuff on vinyl you can, and it costs you as little as any other record. If you want that same record on limited edition colored plastic, well you're a collector and you'll be racked over the coals by Third Man, EBay, your Grandma ect.... jvphotoandvideo
Ever wonder why third man pressing info is undisclosed? What if he just keeps pressing color variants and selling them just to fuck with everyone? That'd be hilarious!

Sh_tluck
not that anyone wants to see this thread at the top of the page anymore, but.... I was reading through some comments about the refresh-a-thon on the vault site, because I wanted to hear other people's experiences, complaints, etc and I came across this quote from Ben Swank: "Now, saying all of that I would again like to state that there will be a Vault member only store in the future where limited items will be sold only to Platinum members. It's a work in progress and it's happening in the coming months." not sure if this has been posted before but I thought i hadn't heard of it before and thought it was interesting. soundofsulfur
Anyone listened to their inverted lightning bolt pressing? Was the sound the same as the original on black?
maneatingcow
Anyone listened to their inverted lightning bolt pressing? Was the sound the same as the original on black? I'm confused, people actually play Third Man variant records? I thought they were just for decorative purposes.
mrrom92
I'm confused, people actually play Third Man variant records? I thought they were just for decorative purposes. i'm almost positive it would use the same plates. But you know what, you can never be too sure. I think I'll wait to open mine till someone can confirm the deadwax etchings. I don't wanna risk getting one that sounds worse compared to the black vinyl. jerseydave77
If that's yours, I'd be pumped. eBay gold my friend. THIS! Post a link if you do. I'd be curious to see it. The transition variants are always a heck of a lot of fun to watch.
RustyShackelford
so far like 95% of these are transition variants like that. so the real ones that will be 'ebay gold' are the actual bolts if things keep up
jerseydave77
^^^ Interesting that so many are so off from the mock-up. Where are you seeing photos? Curious to see what I might be getting today.
