Dominic_
One of the best friends I ever had used to call everyone Bitch as a pet name, begining with me. In his phone, he always had us all listed as Bitch # whatever, but, I was labeled as "Original Bitch" lol Dom was in my phone as Pleb, but now he's Gorilla Fucker because of a running joke. My ex was Edward Norton in my phone for a while, because she had a weird fight club dream where I was marla singer and she was edward norton. She was odd. Dominic_
Cool pillow, but not $31 cool... No, it's a scam similar to the "boxed insert valuable video game> cover art magnet" type things, or so I assumed
GHOSTDRONES
I love how all of them begin with that same "This is Self Defense Music" intro.... The Corrections Officer in Me is another of my top favorites You Are Beneath Her
GreatGreenOne77
You Are Beneath Her Loved that one too. Those songs sound so different with her singing them, but are still wonderful

GreatGreenOne77
What kind of music is Self Defense Family? Should I even bother? Napalm & Ghost could probably pin down their exact "kind" of music, but to me it shifts constantly and that's what has me drawn in honestly. Some songs are pop punkish, some hardcoreish, some indie rock, and so on and so forth.

GHOSTDRONES
What kind of music is Self Defense Family? Should I even bother? Their early stuff hearkens back to Revolution Summer era DisChord... think a bit Can I Say era Dag Nasty. They have since incorporated a lot of post hardcore elements. Sad Heart
What kind of music is Self Defense Family? Should I even bother? Heaven Is Earth is a variety of post-hardcore, indie, emo, and post-punk. Try Me is mostly post-harcore.

NapalmBrain
the vocals take awhile to get used to but I like that they are constantly changing. Plus there is something new every few months even if it's just a couple songs. I would say they are post-punk/post-hardcore, you can see the Lungfish influence with the repetitious but hypnotic instrumental sections and lyrics
Bladewillisisdead
Here's my recommended order to check them out: Scotland 7" Jamaica 7" Try Me You Are Beneath Me Any of their random 7" Duets Also, check out Sincerely at some point. I love that record but it's different t from what they became.

I like the idea of not having to wait a number of years for a collection of songs in the form of a full album. I'm really happy you turned me on to them for sure! Bladewillisisdead
They also have like 12 people in the band so the lineup is rarely the same. They played a show in CT once the same day they played a show in Iceland.
