We have a small local chain that sells prepackaged meals (fancy TV dinners essentially) for $12-15/ea, same sort of thing. Yeah! it's definitely not sustainable for the average american! My mom did it so I'd have home cooked meals while she was in surgery, we just haven't cancelled it. Realistically, I probably wouldn't make it too terribly long if I couldn't add anything to them. Obviously I could go a lot longer if I could even add a few basic ingredients like salt/pepper/CHEESE. For a long time all I wore was skinnyish jeans and plain t-shirts and felt dressed well enough for every day.
