anomynous
Not sure what's terrible about it. Sounds exactly like Sabbath.
morfiend
It's ok, sounds more like Ozzy than Sabbath though.
Speedpig
Looks like I'm in the minority here, but I really like it !
robotfactory
It's ok, sounds more like Ozzy than Sabbath though. This. I didn't really enjoy it. The riffage was pretty good, vocals and drums are NOT Sabbath.
throwgncpr
meh, definitely sounds more like ozzy solo stuff. a bit disappointing, but i'm still crossing my fingers for this album.
youspinmeround
Too much work done on the vocals to make up for ozzy horrible voice
jhulud
I enjoyed the song. Especially the "I Heart Radio On Demand" chorus. That was a nice touch to appeal to the mainstream. throwgncpr and steventangent
morfiend
The whole album is streaming on ITUNES now. http://www.metalhammer.co.uk/news/black-sabbath-are-streaming-the-new-album-right-now/
steventangent
I'm enjoying the album...seriously. Just listened to the stream through headphones. The production leaves a bit to be desired, but I still get chills from some of the guitar work... My other criticisms off the bat are that Brad Wilk is no Bill Ward, AT ALL, and NEEDS MORE GEEZER. But the songs? God Is Dead is the weakest. And some of them are damn good. DAMN GOOD. Even the one where they just basically redid Planet Caravan. nothingnatural
Definitely a decent release. I'm content that I ordered the box set. My other criticisms off the bat are that Brad Wilk is no Bill Ward, AT ALL, and NEEDS MORE GEEZER. 100% agreed.
steventangent
Honestly, if people hate this release altogether, then I don't know what it is they were hoping for. It's not perfect, but it's three old fucks making music 40 years after they drew the template for everyone else. And while one and a half listens through headphones while I read the news isn't enough to let it all soak in, I still feel like it's bristling with a surprising amount of creativity. morfiend and CaptainHerbalLife

I am thinking the majority of people will be bitching about this release due to some ridiculous expectations. Too many people are expecting 70's era Sabbath and that's just unrealistic. I think the album turned out great after two listens.
The Vool
Haven't listened to the record yet, but looking forward to it... It's a shame that Bill Ward is not on the release, but seems as he's a freakin' diva...

The Vool
For wanting his equal piece of the pie? I don't/didn't know if it was because he wouldn't get his equal piece of the pie...I heard that he didn't feel "sufficiently invited", which, in the end, I interpreted as Iommi/Ozzy have not asked him on their knees to rejoin... I also read an interview with Ozzy where he stated Ward showed up and wasn't in shape to play, especially when playing live/touring which requires playing a hour and a half set. I'm sure it also came down to money but Ward being out of shape and unable to cut it seems quite plausible.
steventangent
It was a contractual thing for him. I read quotes where he was bitching about being asked to play "basically for free." The thing is though, the health complaint seems valid. He did have a massive heart attack around the time of the last reunion.
throwgncpr
just listened to the album. Not bad. It's not 70s Sabbath, but it isn't the 70s. Overall, enjoyable.

steventangent
How does it sound? Is the packaging worthwhile? Did it come with a download code?
youspinmeround
No..Bill ward is just old and bitter. They didnt want him because he cant play for 90 minutes live anymore and he got all upset. Than went on talking about how he isnt getting 25% of everything. They cropped him out of all pictures on their website so I wouldnt see him showing up anytime soon
anomynous
How does it sound? Is the packaging worthwhile? Did it come with a download code? Haven't listened yet, and no download code as far as I can tell. It's a sturdy gatefold jacket.

markok
Listened to couple of mp3-s. Wow, this stuff is brickwalled to death, almost in the range of Death Magnetic.
Speedpig
Got this in the mail this morning. Nice gatefold sleeve with printed inners. The discs are heavyweight and the whole package feels very high quality, especially for the budget £12.99 price tag Shame they have compressed the hell out of it, does not sound good to my ears. Quieter moments sound fine, but as soon as any heaviness kicks in the dynamics are lost and everything just seems a bit muddy/noisy. Would be interested to hear opinions from others who have the vinyl.
