Gwar B Q.  That was an epic festival.  ASG is a close second.  That was an epic night seeing them at a hometown local bar which I set up.

Just bought it today, nothing fancy but it's AC/DC - Powerage on transparent red vinyl.  Original 1978 Canadian pressing.  It has a little black splotch on it which makes it that much cooler.

Linkin Park - Hybird Theory.  I saw them once, didn't stay for the entire show, but from what I recall they were actually really good live and I haven't heard them in years and years.

1) What was your favorite album of 2013? This year's releases were monster. For me, I think it's a four way tie between: Coheed and Cambria - The Afterman: Descension, The Dear Hunter - Migrant, Balance and Composure - The Things We Think We're Missing, and Anthony Green - Young Legs

I went to a ton of shows this year, and out of all of them, I have to say The Dear Hunter earlier this year at the Union Transfer in Philly is at the top. It was the first time I saw them since getting into their music and their 3-hour set blew me away.

So far it's Candy Claws - Ceres & Calypso in the Deep Time

But Tim Hecker - Virgins was a doozy.

Didn't get to go to too many this year, but probably Grizzly Bear because they did an impeccable performance, played some of my favorites, and it was literally the only show I've gone to with a girlfriend.

This year? I purchased Son Lux - We Are Rising which only comes in this beautiful translucent turquoise, one of my favorite records ever. If that doesn't count as a variant since there's no other option, close behind is Nomeansno - Wrong reissue on red and white splatter, I remember opening it and just thinking 'God, this looks gorgeous.'

If that Mansions - Doom Loop pre-order ever comes through though, that might top it. I've seen the pictures.

4) What was your favorite reissue of 2013?

Probably The Mountain Goats - All Hail West Texas. My girlfriend spins it constantly and I've taken a strong liking to it.

2) What was the best live show you attended in 2013? A Loss For Words played 'No Sanctuary' front to back in March in Pawtucket, RI. It was the first show I had been too since I was hospitalized, and I was with great people and a great crowd. I had a blast at that show, and it really made me feel alive again after being in a hospital for nearly three weeks.

This is a hard one. I saw a lot of great shows this year. It's a toss up between Built To Spill, Belle & Sebastien, Spiritualized, Jeff Mangum, Frightened Rabbit, and The Tallest Man on Earth.

Breathers by Sunbeam Rd. is pretty neat. I guess it's not a variant, because it's the only color available, but It's still really beautiful.

Off the top of my head I can only think of two I bought this year -- Rilo Kiley - More Adventureous, and Built To Spill - Live, so I guess those two!

Great show and got in for free because I bought a ticket to a Fest being held at the same club at a later date, also Wisdom In Chains played their album "Die Young" from front to back and I always thought its cool when bands do that. Runner up would have to goto Cold World, The Rival Mob, Naysayer, Tough Luck at the Church in Philly.

Deafheaven - Sunbather. It was the first album I'd listened to from these guys. The first listen straight through was a pretty crazy experience. Very emotional and moving album.

Kevin Devine @ The Rex a few nights ago. I'd seen KD in Bad Books a couple of times before but never with his band. They packed in 21 songs and absolutely killed it.

1) What was your favorite album of 2013?

My personal favorite album of the year was This Is How The Shifts. I feel that record really encapsulated everything that Silverstein is about, and was a totally killer album through and through.

2) What was the best live show you attended in 2013?

My favorite show of the year had to be this little show I saw earlier in the year. Living in Florida, we don't have a huge Pop Punk scene, which totally sucks because that's the genre I tend to enjoy most. The lineup was Handguns, State Champs, Veara and City Lights. I just had an amazing time in this little shack with these four awesome bands. It was more like seeing a bunch of old friends come and play music for me and about 25 other kids than a big elaborate show.

3) What was your favorite vinyl variant you purchased in 2013?

I'm going to have to go with my copy of Captain, We're Sinking's The Future Is Cancelled. Blue edition, limited to 300. Absolutely beautiful record appearance wise, and is my record of the year based on the music.

4) What was your favorite reissue of 2013?

Finch's What It Is To Burn. One of my all time favorite albums, pressed to a limited double LP. Stunning to listen to, even though its over 10 years old.

5) Which of the four records would you like to win?

I really would love to have the Touché Amore record! One of my favorite albums of the year, easily.
