Satan
Once again, I'm at a complete fucking stand still with what to get my mom. She's the kind of lady who, if she wants it. she gets it. What kind of things have you gotten your mom this year or in previous years?
deafening
I got my mom authentic tour shirts from the years me and my brother were born last this year for her birthday and framed them for her. Boston 1987 and Van Halen 1984. Boston was the big deal because we listened to them on the drive to school every morning. Every thing I get her from this point on will probably just be shit in comparison.
Snaggle Von Swift
I took my mom to Kohls and had her pick out a bunch of stuff. She's not the type of person you can pick stuff out for/surprise.
sirensongofra
I usually get my mom a gift card to the local bookstore and chocolate. The generic mom gift but shes tough to shop for, and she goes nuts for it so it works
castaway
I do Starbucks gift cards. Every year. For Mother's Day, birthday, and Christmas. Tommy and jtcohenour
radiatorhums
This year I'm getting my mom a cookbook and a gift certificate for a massage. Does your mom drink? If so, get her a nice bottle of wine or gin or whatever she likes. I used to do that for mine, but I'm flying home and that makes it difficult. converge88
I always get my mom Yankee candles. She loves them but can't buy a bunch cause of the high price tag. Moms love that kind of stuff I think

This year I got her the new Stephen King book that is apparently the sequel to The Shining & a gift card to Roadrunner Sports so she can do that Shoe Dog jawn. She has back/feet problems so I'm hoping it helps her. I don't know what to get my boyfriend's mom though. =\

radiatorhums
Gift Certificate to a nursery, this will be the 6th year in a row. That would be perfect for my mom, I'm going to file that one away for the future.
Guest
I get my mom a sweater every year. And every year I think, man she must be tired of this. But then I also want to keep up tradition. But I'm also doing a portrait of our late dog for my parents.
hudsoncomplex
We got her a broom, and I'm not even kidding.... it was my wife's idea, ugh. Also a new lamp for the living room. I'll probably also get her an iTunes gift card, since we got her an iPod last year.
eight1echo
Last year my brother and I got her a frame with a picture of the family in it. This year I think we're going for a picture of just us. Mom's love that shit. Will probably attach a giftcard to somewhere.
dominic252
My brother and I are getting my mom a new pair of running shoes and an iPad mini. I feel like an iPad is a pretty good go-to gift
radiatorhums
I sent my mom a card with a photo of my dog in it a few years ago. She loved it, probably more than she would have loved a photo of me.
nick6ten
I usually do a candle from Yankee or Bath & Body, can usually catch a bogo sale, oh and bath bombs from Lush. My mom and sister love that stuff. This year we're doing something a little different for Christmas and picked names where we get one person a big present. I got my mom and I've been working on finding a bunch of old family pictures, and getting black and white prints made and framing them. Unfortunately, my mom and grandma's birthday are 3 days before Christmas, it makes it kind of difficult to find diverse gifts to make both events feel special and unique. paranoidantroyd
As if $30 for a Yankee Candle isn't bad enough they also charge for boxes. Jesusfuckingchrist.
thebiglebowski
My ma asked for a recliner. I just happen to have a pretty much like new one in my basement to give her. Think I paid $300 for it, put a pool table in my living room, and now I have no use for it. Pretty easy shopping.
IanRees
I get my mom the same thing every year, a bunch of cherry blossom scented items from bath & body works. Might switch it up and frame a picture of me and my girlfriend or something this year though.
mrewest
Ya'll talking about Yankee Candles' ridic prices need to get hip to Bath & Body Works. Snagged an ass-load of $8 jumbo 3-wick candles last Friday.
chunkrock
I got my mom two tickets for Elton John this year, I figured that's the perfect mom gift.
jhook
My Mom informed me that she doesn't want a gift card from the nursery this year! MY WORLD HAS TURNED UPSIDE DOWN!
Guest
these are all things I've gotten my mom in the past. I'm good with mom gifts. but she is just the typical sweet old lady mom. an old b&w photo of her and my dad blown up and framed tart burner and tarts or candles garden kneeler - to protect her mom knees while she gardens 3rd hand for sewing (it's a cool bird looking thing that you clamp on places and the beak opens up to hold fabric) kindle/amazon gift card for ebooks slippers - moms are always cold blanket - moms are always cold crossword puzzles and other mind games - moms like to keep their minds sharp perfume and lotions - moms like to smell good a book of recipes for canning - moms love to preserve stuff any cool kitchen gadgets that make cooking/baking easier try and think of things your mom likes to do. I know it can be hard, but overall she's just happy you're thinking of her.
