    lmfao. was gonna post my timestamped texts with Derek as "proof" that our feelings were pre-Pitchfork's review.
    Glad to see you were on the same page, Derek.

    I love the assumption that if you dislike it - you must be a p4k slave, but if you LIKE it, it's got nothing to do with the glowing reviews you read on any other site

    Haha.  Fuck right off, dude. One online publication doesn’t get to corner an opinion on music.  “Welp Pitchfork loves the record so I guess I gotta’ hate on it otherwise I’m a drone.”  Do people really think like this?  You are aware that people are allowed to form and adhere to their own perceptions of an album, right?  AF is weak af because James’ vocals melodies and delivery are forgettable, lyrics are grossly basic and teeter on cringe, and the entire thing flows in one ear and out the other barring 3 or so highlights.  This conclusion was arrived at well before Pitchfork posted any kind of review, as made apparent by the time stamps in this text chat with a friend;

    I know it’s a big and scary world out there with adults forming their own opinions and interpretations of music, but you should give it a shot sometime.  No one single website or source should dictate how you feel about music and you’re a child if you feel otherwise.

    Noted.

    Given the speed with which this sold out, there will be a repress.  So, sit tight if you didn't get a copy this time around!

    I've really been digging a band on Domino called Sorry, but so far they only have 7"s. I bought their two demo tapes on Bandcamp and am holding out for a full length to come out on Domino hopefully soon.

    Women have been afraid to speak up about sexual assault/harassment/abuse forever.  So until millions of innocent men are harmed, "me too" has not gone too far.

    "Innocent until proven guilty" applies to a court of law. Where it's not uncommon for the guilty to be found innocent and vice versa. So that is irrelevant horsehit.

    Maynard has always been a piece of shit creep. This story is pretty believable and with the way dudes on the internet have been reacting to this, the victim was right to remain anonymous. Fuck that Blue Lives Matter shithead and his music.

    Saying #MeToo has gone too far is a weird take.

    While, yes, innocence until proven guilty is a fundamental right,  victims need to be empowered too. I think the correct take away is to see how this develops, but people need to take a beat and maybe see MJK through a different set of eyes for the time being.

    Just over a year after releasing their lauded debut LP, Yoncalla, Yumi Zouma return with Willowbank, the band’s sophomore album.
    Limited edition (1000) Willowbank 12"s are pressed on baby blue vinyl and include sheet music for album highlight 'Carnation’ printed on premium cotton paper. Select limited edition LPs will also include hidden entry tickets to invite-only release parties in New York City and Los Angeles, featuring live and DJ sets from the band.
    For the making of Willowbank, Yumi Zouma's members — Charlie Ryder, Josh Burgess, Christie Simpson and Sam Perry — settled on a plan to reunite for the New Zealand summer. To complete what would become their first significant work written and recorded entirely in their home country, they rented a studio in Christchurch’s semi-demolished CBD, on one of the few remaining blocks that still characterizes the city from before it was destroyed by a series of earthquakes. “It was as though there was a brief pause in all of our lives and we finally felt like a band from New Zealand,” said Burgess. “We were on home turf and creating from a place that felt fundamentally natural.” When you know it’s there, the feeling of rootedness is undeniable on Willowbank. Being connected to their origins on the bottom of the earth allowed the band’s members to craft another essential chapter in the Yumi Zouma storybook.
