That top one?  I'm personally way into the influx of that variant, lately.  I like it so much better than the streaky, zany splatters that have been so prevalent for the last decade.  Definitely the strongest contender of this bunch.

Of course, and likewise.  Been calling them "raindrop" variants. Love the little wisps of color to clear where the pellets didn't fully melt/spread.

  2. Pig Destroyer's live album showed up today, looks and sounds great - the production on this thing is unreal.

Little surprised it's still available since it sounds so good and only /1000.

As much as The Body collabs with bands I love (Full of Hell, Thou, etc.) I just cannot get into anything they're involved with 😕 The vocals kill it for me every single time. It's beyond grating.

    Hello,

Figured I would post here as I have searched online for a sealed copy of this album.

To my amazement I have never seen Manhole in any record store I have visited.

Thank you. I am very open to any response

Normally I would post something very snarky and sarcastic, but you seem genuine.

Here are 109 copies of the original 1973 LP for sale, you can filter to the sleeve/media condition you want: https://www.discogs.com/sell/release/1535314?ev=rb

I doubt you find a sealed copy of a 1973 record in 2021, but you may have more luck with the 2012 re-press: https://www.discogs.com/sell/release/6349419?ev=rb

I hate how helpful I've been.

  4. Anyone else have a copy of Undeath's Lesions of a Different Kind? Curious on your opinion of the sound... I love the record but something is.... off with the vinyl sound, to my ears.

Seems someone on Discogs thinks the "vocals are too bright" I'm no good at explaining sounds but yeah, on the off chance anyone else has a copy, I'm curious.

    Mine's purple/green marble variant fwiw.

  5. buncha random represses up at 20BS as well - you can't sort to them easily but if you scroll through "All Vinyl" anything with the Pre-Order flag that's not new is a new repress.

I grabbed Khemmis and Ulthar records I was missing, there's new Tomb Mold and a couple other things as well.

Seconds later, the official email came through:

Additionally today a big drop of vinyl represses from Gravesend, Atramentus, Tomb Mold, Spirit Adrift, Ulthar, Iron Age & Khemmis are available, not to mention a Gravesend tape repress.

    Greetings

We just launched our webshop at METEOR-GEM.COM and will have that record

Please check the shop and use code CRATER for 10% off - we've got a ton of metal/hardcore and are uploading more every day

Had no idea this site was run by someone on VC.  Ended up there after browsing discogs and ending up on your seller page.

Used this code, appreciate it.  Couple other things caught my eye, too. I'm sure I'll be back before long.

  7. 4th Pressing of Blood Incantation's Hidden History is up at darkdescent's shop and Bandcamp.

So honestly you bring up some great points. A lot of times when buying from a label the only option is Media Mail. It really doesn’t matter what shipping service you choose if the record isn’t packaged securely it’s going to get damaged if really doesn’t matter if it gets to me in 2 days or 10 days. Obviously the longer it’s in transit the more opportunities it has to take on more damage I get that. I also send everything Media Mail when selling records and have never had an issue in 15 years. Honestly it’s all about how you package a record.

Also, if you think this is the reason labels are charging around $40.00 for single LP’s then I don’t know what to tell you.

If you don't think it's a factor, you're choosing to be ignorant.

Making unrealistic demands of independent sources of music is beyond the pale, in my opinion.

So do you think that this issue could have been avoided if the record would have been shipped better?  Also who are you to say what is and isn’t grounds for a replacement? I’m glad you went through my post history to see what I have posted. I have been buying records for over 15 years and have been on this board since the beginning but hardly ever post. I have 1,000’s of records and the majority of the stuff I have received has been in good shape. If labels are worried about cost margin find ways to get records to customers without damage. I have been doing it for that same amount of time and have never had one person tell me they received a record damaged from me. I’m glad your okay with receiving something like that but when I know the issue could be avoided it’s a bit frustrating for me. I’ll continue not posting on the board anymore which is fine by me.

I totally get that, and deal with it all the time. I have been buying for a long ass time and I know how this goes. It’s just frustrating when your business is literally selling records yet you don’t know how to ship them. If I was a label I would do everything in my power to get someone the product they purchased in the best possible condition so I would avoid any extra costs on my end to make up for whatever the issue may be. Maybe that’s just me

I don't own thousands of records, but I can proudly state that across the hundreds I /have/ purchased, I've complained and demanded replacement sleeves or copies in less total instances across my entire history of buying records than you have on the most recent page of your post history, lol.

Also - I'm REALLY curious. Do you just.... not get that you are paying the record label for the record, and you are paying /THE POST OFFICE/ for the shipping of said record?  If something is absolutely ass blasted to fuck or packed in a pizza box - complain away, my man.  If something was shipped in a mailer, WITH an extra cardboard insert, and has a widdel baby corner ding... how you think that is somehow the fault and financial responsibility of the label is just beyond me.

Look at you saying you'd do everything in your power if you were the seller -- why don't you do what's in your power as the buyer? Only buy up-charged shipping speeds with guarantees or insurance minimums.  The media mail option you are paying for is not covering the 3 additional sleeves labels need to send you, and the 300 they need to send to the other 100 people just like you who ordered the same thing.

Hey, all things considered - I'm glad you posted!  Now I know who to thank every time I have to place an order for a $35 before shipping new LP because prices have raised $15 due to the never ending train of crybaby collectors demanding replacements and yelp-harassing any labels who refuse to give them.

I’m guessing the pictures are large on a PC, they’re small on my phone. I’ll just delete them. Wanted to give a heads up for anyone else who might be waiting on a sleeve.

Picture size isn't the issue - it's that a corner ding is not grounds for record sleeve replacement, or complaining publicly on a forum to try to further damage an independent label's reputation more than you already have their profit margin.

Your post history is so clogged with toxic examples of asking for multiple replacements and doggedly complaining about shipping practices, it's a bit much.

Hard Candy is definitely their most underrated in their whole discography. If you haven't given their latest a whirl, the single Palisades Park might perk your interest. It's a solid listen too!

But yeah, I'm a fan of Elevator Boots and am hopeful for this. No reason to think it will be bad, as I don't think they've genuinely had a bad release. Even Saturday Nights and Sunday Mornings was an enjoyable ride for me and something I go back to frequently.

I should definitely give the past few albums a real chance. I'm looking forward to this, too. I just really, desperately need them to repress This Desert Life on vinyl.

  12. I can't believe I just bought this... Tower Records' variant and their phenomenal $2.98 media mail option got me interested, but honestly the single sold me.

As someone who plays their first 3 albums quite frequently, listened to Hard Candy quite a bit as a kid but not so much as an adult, and hasn't really ever given the other albums much airtime... the new single is pretty enjoyable.  It feels the tiniest bit off in a few places, like they're trying to be the Counting Crows - which I realize is absurd, but pretty good overall. I'm in to give it a shot - best case it's good and we'll have future  suite(s) to look forward to, worst case it's terrible but at least I get to have a 12x12 piece of cardboard with that beautiful album art in my house.
