  1. Can anyone comment on the quality of the recent Pinkerton VMP press and is it still available in the store?
  2. Even still, it is USD$20 more expensive. It's cheaper for me to buy it from the US and ship it to New Zealand than buy it from Australia :/
  3. Bundles are up in their store: http://www.theavalanchesmusic.com/store/
  4. Haha, so much SNW hate, I love that album. I feel like it bridges the old Deftones and the new. To me it's the first album that really explores that atmospheric soundscape of the guitars and vocal melodies. To me there is pre-SNW Deftones and post-SNW Deftones.
  5. Updated my system with some new speakers and an integrated amp. - Project 1.2 (w/ Ortofon OM10) - Project Phono Box - Rotel RA-935BXII Intergrated Amplifier - Mission 780SE Bookshelf speakers - Belden interconnects and some pretty standard speaker cables I have an Ortofon 2M Blue which is getting fitted this week.
  6. I have finally got all the pieces and put them together! My upgraded system is now: - Project 1.2 (w/ Ortofon OM10) - Project Phono Box - Rotel RA-935BXII Intergrated Amplifier - Mission 780SE Bookshelf speakers - Belden interconnects and some pretty standard speaker cables I am really pleased with the results. I played a range of records. It sounds bright, crisp and clear, plenty of volume and no distortion at all when I turn it up. The only thing I would look to improve would be a little more bass, but with that said, it still has acceptable low end, and is very responsive - perhaps just missing some punch. I have an Ortofon 2M Blue which I will get fitted this week. I figured I would be able to better appreciate the new components doing the upgrade in stages. Thanks for all your help and suggestions. 7. Picked up a couple of albums I have been trying to acquire for a while now: Soundgarden - Down on the Upside (US Pressing) Every Time I Die - Gutter Phenomenon (Hot Pink /500) - thanks to a fellow board member
  8. Seller backed! Awesome to deal with. Free bump.
  9. Amazon is pretty expensive at the moment! $10 more on No Code and $5 more on Yield, over the PJ website price!
  10. Cheers dude, ordered! (Just the one S/T standard). Pretty reasonable shipping to NZ too...
  11. Man, you're going for a complete set of The Satellite Years! I consider myself lucky to have a single copy of it, hah! Best of luck.
  12. Perhaps a stupid question.... Should speaker cables be the same length? For my setup, the right speaker cable needs to be 6 metres and the left about 3. I was going to try and reduce clutter and save a small amount of money by only getting the cables as long as I need, but not if it makes a difference sound-wise.
  13. Thank you! Ordered. So much cheaper shipped to NZ.
  14. For the variant hunters... another variant has been released. "Electric Blue" Vinyl / Limited to 2,500 copies "All 4 colors in the Preorder completely sold out by Tuesday morning (the Platinum package w/ Glow-In-The-Dark vinyl was gone in 15 minutes), thank you! JUST ADDED: Transparent "Electric Blue" / first pressing: This variant wasn't planned to be part of the Preorder but will be due to overwhelming demand!"
  15. I will have to wait and see, it's still in transit and I'm in New Zealand. It will be a couple of weeks before it gets to me.
  16. Did you get that from operaguy2008? I picked one up for $50 from him. He's been selling a whole stack of them, all hole punched the top corner (promo I assume). I asked him where he was getting them all from. He said he they were found in an abandoned storage unit of a man that worked for a record company and that he started with about two dozen copies... sounds like a Storage Wars situation!
  17. Picked up the single /1000. I have no use for four copies of this, even if one glows in the dark!
  18. I'm looking at two different speaker stand options... I'm just looking for a bit of advice around preferred construction materials and style, and which of the two below would be better. FYI, I have wooden floors and will be sitting some Mission 780SE's on them (180mm x 200mm base). Option 1: Wood constriction Rubber Feet Adjustable height (660mm - 26inches at it's lowest point) Speaker Base is 195mm square Option 2: Steel Construction Spike Feet Fixed height (615 mm high - 24 inches)
  19. I was only keen on the Doors and the Deftones. I picked up the Doors 7". I missed out on Deftones, the only store in Auckland that seems to have received copies so far only got two and those sold out really early. Fingers crossed one of the others get their stock in the next few days, but I'm not too hopeful. For those that got it, how much did it sell for?
  20. This arrived at work this morning... #615
  21. USD$180 - the most I've spent on a record. No regrets!
  22. I'm making progress... I'm starting to put my new equipment together. I now have some Mission 780SE bookshelf speakers and a Rotel RA-935BX integrated amp. The person I bought the speakers off had them set up bi-wired and didn't supply the bridging pieces to run in normal set up. Is it better to set up the speakers in a bi-wired configuration or just save the $$$ on cables and go regular and purchase some new bridging connectors? I looked at bi-amping but the nominal impedance of the speakers is only 6 ohms, and the manual for the amp recommends a minimum of 8 ohms.
  23. Pretty f'ing stoked to be able to cross this one off my want list! It's in really solid NM condition Better still, I managed to find it locally (in NZ) and for an amazing price.
  24. I received an email on Saturday with a Shipment ID, which hopefully means something is happening. My online account still says processing.
