At this point, so many people are expecting Glenn, I wouldn't be surprised if they completely flip the script on it and make it someone else. They've done it with major deaths before.

monklover reacted to andy. in Awesome Goodwill Finds
My girlfriend's little sister found a copy of Dr. Dre's The Chronic today. Only wanted it for the pot leaf on the center label. She put the record in another jacket to hide it from her mom. Needless to say once she left I took it. I went back in to find the original jacket, but couldn't find it. Not sure if it even had one to begin with. Still pretty cool find tho. Maybe I'll give it back to her as a Christmas present.

Honestly, if they even included a cd-sized booklet, I would be happy.

There are also those who believe porn isn't a viable job for some reason. I get why someone would be against certain production companies but to be against porn 100% sounds biased to me.

I've actually traced a lot of products back to their corporate owners and ceased buying them immediately. Fuck anything that puts money into Nestle's hands.
It's honestly a really important thing to do.

Personal gripes get in the way when the money you spend at the store is funding the oppression of a whole class of people.

I'll take the hit for posting this.....
These ARE NOT variants to be worried about! Everybody has a collector mentality and its dumb...
Since the beginning albums have had to be repressed due to demand, and/or just the sheer amount they pressed had to be done in waves.
Look at any other Bowie album though out his career...granted some may be better quality than others when you take into account the questionable 'remasters' they push out now, or old budget line presses... but are people really so concerned whether their copy of Hunky Dory came out in March of '71 or five months later in August of '71 or February of '72? No, because they are virtually indistinguishable save maybe some 'number' somewhere on it.
Just like Blackstar now, if you give a fuck whether you're copy was printed 7 months ago, or 3 weeks ago with differences you'd have to search over the entire release with a magnifying glass and use scale to find. You suck.
This album will be in print for some time now, which is good... that matters, not a couple numbers on the cover or record label!

monklover got a reaction from thesecrets0308 in PO: Everclear - Sparkle And Fade and So Much For The Afterglow
for Sparkle and Fade had to break down and go with soundstage direct (and their 12% off deal) and get shipped to my US address to pick up later came to just over $36... 22 bucks was the cheapest to ship to Germany.
The price is STILL OUTRAGEOUS overseas. 91.28 at amazon de!!!!!! Marketplace a huge deal at 79.99!!
Hhv has it at 54.99, but that doesnt even reach their free shipping threshold and its not even available to ship for another month. I've been watching this since it was announced and expecting the price to drop to at least halfway reasonable levels... really odd.... I am willing to bet in six months to a year I can get one of those hhv copies at a radically reduced price!
I guess I get the comparisons to other 90's one hit wonders and radio rock, and except for a few songs on So Much For The Afterglow, I am mostly indifferent to Everclear, but Sparkle and Fade is a really really great mid-nineties rock album. One of my favorites all time albums, even if Everclear doesn't rank as a band I particularly enjoy. I wouldn't write the album off based on their radio hits and because of the 'era' they came from...
I did listen to their newest, Black is the New Black, and though I don't love it, its definitely a return to their paced catchy sound all the way through. I liked it alright, but Sparkle and Fade is where it's at with these guys.

People will come in droves with VG and G+ copies of Lazaretto in hand, begging for water.
He will look down and laugh as he strokes the shrinkwrap around his gold copy of a pristine virginal Great Gatsby OST.

So I pre-ordered the clear version back in November and now Barnes & Nobles just cancelled my order. Apparently, regardless of whether its coming back in stock on their website, they cancel pre-ordered automatically and once you order is cancelled they can't un-cancel it. I spoke to to someone on their instant chat and he guaranteed that I would still receive the item. Yesterday they cancelled the order, so I called customer service and worked my way up the chain trying to get them to un-cancel the order and got fed a bunch of lies, I started getting pissed and the supervisor who claimed there was no one else I could talk to hung the phone up on me. So I called back and went up the customer service ladder and got a different person at the top who said they could un-cancel the order but it will probably be automatically cancelled again. FUCK Barnes and Nobles, they are a terrible company with horrible logistic planning and I can't wait for them to go out of business.

monklover got a reaction from niblips in Books ends?
put an extra large book against the bookends, then the records....
i had some records in milk-crates that were stored away for a few years... a couple of them were not quite full and a few of the records in those ones leaned, maybe even less than what's in that picture above, and they had some warp to them when I pulled them out last spring... keeping them straight and firmly supported is very important

i also ordered mine late in the game and have not received a shipping confirmation yet, so I have been watching the various 'shipping dates' (ie: when the restocks arrive) on German sites. The soonest I've seen is 2 - 3 weeks with the average about 3 to 4 weeks as of today, which considering just a couple days ago they all said 6+ weeks, with some saying April or May, I am guessing there has been a rush to push them out... so they are coming, no doubt about that!
Either way, i am also frustrated at the hype/rush/cash-in side of all this... of course I would like mine to show up ASAP, but in the mean time we are all able to hear the new songs in a variety of ways... not to mention his seemingly endless other classics to hold us over... so why stress, rush, over-pay and support the douchebags that are flipping, and generally freak out about getting this on vinyl now, now, now (and who cares about a variant, I don't sit and stare at the color of the record while it plays... though a good smoke and staring at a spiraled center label can be fun).... we'll all get a copy in time, it's not like we can't enjoy the music in the interim...
Blackstar has really grown on me after a few listens... kind of like most of my favorite albums, it didn't click, until it DID click, and when it hits there's no turning back!!
Thank you David Bowie!
