Hang on... the "straw that broke the camel's back" for him is... a slight cosmetic imperfection in a colored record?

Also, I asked Mike, mwY’s manager, on twitter if they were planning on releasing all of their albums in this 2LP 45rpm format, and he said, “that’s the plan.”

Y'all are champs. Put in that order after streaming this all day. Stoked to hear What We've Lost in all its glory.

Something about listening to this one on vinyl hit me in a way streaming it didn’t. I’d recommend it.
As for pressing quality, my copy was flat but did have a little surface noise in a couple of places out of the box. I’ll run it through the spin clean and it will probably be perfect. Aside from those couple of pops, it’s a quiet and rich sounding pressing.

Sounds like they are getting first dibs. The rest of us are just waiting for them to be available to the general public.

I prefer the “grabbed a copy”, “it shipped”, and “got my copy” posts because I can update my spreadsheet of people who preordered, grabbed a copy, are awaiting shipment, and had it delivered.

Look, I get it. At earlier points in my life, especially when I was a broke teen, paying for entertainment was annoying and, at the time in my opinion, not fair. Yet as I’ve grown up, and even more so as a musician myself, although in no way professional or for monetary gain, I now appreciate that this is their livelihood. This is their job. Would I be angry if my employer walked in and said: “Hey that analysis report that you’ve been working on for the last few months, staying up late to finish, yea we’re not gonna pay you for that time. Because, well jus because we don’t think you should be charging us.” Ha!
Do you see my point? Entertainers are not here FOR us, they’re here SHARING WITH US their gifts. Helping us emotionally when needed. And for that, I find it completely ethical and within their creative rights to charge me for every sliver of their craft. If I don’t want it, then I can go listen to someone else.
Just my two cents...

Very intrigued by this. Doubt I'll pick it up as I too belong to the this album is kinda wack crowd, but I am extremely curious about the re-record. I think there are some really great nuggets happening on this record, but they're dropped between some just really unappealing stuff. I doubt they'll be too revisionist, but this could possibly end up making it a more consistent album. If nothing else, I've always hated how the vocals were mixed, so maybe it'll fix that.

Everything Underoath released prior to Erase Me is trash...

Guys I am really liking where this thread is going.
Can we elevate this to "brand new" levels?
Someone say something offensive already.

I would love for these guys to make "a fortune" off of their hard work past and present. As someone in the currently-crippled entertainment industry, I'm happy for anyone managing to make a living right now.

While I picked up the boxset posthaste and am fine with $5 for a cool box, I would love to find out that the disappearing slipmat made its way into the set (definitely not counting on it though). At least the box has exclusive artwork.

While I've always loved that these guys do different artwork for different versions of a release, I will agree that the original Define vinyl cover is their worst artwork since the original EPs (though Erase Me comes in a not too distant second). Ironically, I think the Special Edition artwork for this album is probably their best artwork next to the vinyl edition of Lost in the Sound. I've always thought it would make killer vinyl packaging.
