The repress has nothing to do with it.  People were hyped before they even knew a repress of DDs was coming.
 
Gorillaz gets played all over the radio (at least in the cities I visit).  People who like Gorillaz did not forget about them, it sounds like you simply don't like Gorillaz.
 
 
 
I also find the comments saying that this isn't a departure odd.  While obviously there have been changes from album to album, I find that the first three albums do have a very recognizable thread throughout.  I did not feel like Plastic Beach was a huge departure, and was not disappointed by it at all.
 
This feels like a huge departure, which is fine, it's just not for me.  A lot of people ARE into it and that's cool.

My favorite part about tug is how as soon as his 30 day time out ends he is right back on the boards actively seeking the next ban.

Not any more or less than any given Used record requires a press.

not lucky, it's just a really good pressing.
There is a just a vocal minority complaining. 
VMP has posted that they have had less than a 2% return/complaint rate which from what they say is better than any of their previous releases.
This record has just drawn out a lot of crosley fans that like to complain.

Pretty common I have noticed.  All the recipes I have checked usually always have at least a few ingredients that not only expensive but I will also probably never use them again so I have never made one. It was a cool concept but I am not that serious about my alcohol consumption.
 
There is a guy on Youtube named "Vinyl Rewind" that does reviews of all the albums and used to also make the drinks as well but I do not know if he still does.

Why do you think Gorillaz fans are more likely to use Discogs? 
 
I dont think it's unreasonable to think only 5-10% of vinyl buyers track their collections using discogs.  24,000 people not using discogs to track their collections is a pretty reasonable estimate. 

I wouldn't say they've been "reserving stock" of previous AOTMs for crate subscribers (or full subscribers who wanted a second copy), it's just that for previous AOTMs the supply (amount VMP pressed) has always exceeded the demand from full subscribers, so there were always some copies left over for crate subscribers. With DD, the demand from full subscribers for the AOTM exceeded the supply. 
 
EDIT: The original reason for the crate subscription was to guarantee non-full members access to the member store, not guarantee access to previous AOTMs.

I say this as a biased VMP subscriber, but I actually find their exclusives to me quite the opposite of Newbury.  A lot of them are great new releases and it seems to me like they put a lot of time into selecting them.  And their pricing is usually in line with, maybe a couple bucks more, than you can find the standard releases for.  Newbury seems to re-press albums that are readily available for cheap and really jacks up the price.  

They pictures are still a little blurry for some reason but whatever...

That's absolutely the case. Seems like a lot of people are more concerned with the rarity of their pressing vs. the actual music, which you can't play anyway when it's in a frame.  

Deluxes (and Super Deluxes) are back up in the Gorillaz UK store. And Amazon UK marked the price up to what it was prob supposed to be the whole time.
 
I'm starting to think these will be retail released in the UK and everyone else just got allotted amounts. After the Bullmoose cancellation, I locked in an order on Amazon UK for 40 pounds. Starting to feel better about that now, if my hunch is correct.

Hm... Amazon UK looks to still have the deluxe up for pre-order and have yet to cancel my  order.  I'm wondering if this means that there's just no deluxe retail for the US. Here's hoping since I too canceled my Gorillaz store order when amazon put it up for half the price.

It was just put up on FatBeats the other day for the same price as BM, so that is always an option, but I'll be super bummed if Amazon pulls out too.

God, I've never wanted to buy a limited edition release less thanks to you guys. 

For a board that complains about vinyl prices all the time, I find it hysterical that's so many of you want to drop $400 on an impractical box set for songs that you have never heard before.
And  people thought record store day was a gimmick cash grab.
