They are very addictive. I don't want to sound too cheesy but this has been the most enjoyable experience with collecting vinyl I've had in a long time. No refreshing to snipe off the rarest variant before anyone else, no preorder delays, no entitled whiners bitching about every minute dissatisfaction with the release they may have. And opening these packs is as exciting as opening a surprise on Christmas morning. Fantastic job all around Chaps!

I'm sure SRC makes enough money to stay in business, but you have to realize their business model is exhausting—it's entirely dependent on limited physical product. There is a finite amount of money they can make off anything they carry, and the profit margin for selling vinyl is extremely slim, especially when you're paying for overhead, multiple employees, etc. I'm not saying it's an unsustainable model (as I think SRC has done quite a good job of growing their business in recent years, far better than Virgil did during VC's boom years), but again, it has to be exhausting. You can't ever sit back and wait for, like, a royalty check from digital sales to come in, like some labels are able to.

I wasn't saying there was a bait and switch. S1D have always been cool in my books. I was just explaining my reasons for buying it. Pure impulse. From a collector's standpoint this release is pretty cool and the cost is understandable when you look at what it costs to make it. A 2XLP would have been much cheaper and got way more play though.
I responded to your PM. You seem like a decent guy and I respect your opinion. I'll be sure to stay away from any SRC4LIFE promos just in case.
