Yet another year passes by and still no That Thing You Do! OST. At this point I'm going to be some old man years from now waiting on the god-damn 50th Anniversary press or something. Literally screw whoever is holding that process up. 
Also, I can't go this year and was hoping for another year of crap so I wouldn't have FOMO. I was this close to success when I get to the very bottom and see the first pressing ever of The Verve Pipe album 😑At least it's an 'RSD First' and will have a wider release later on in case I miss getting a copy online. 

Per usual, a lot of stuff no one asked for. Shadows Fall is a pretty big deal but it's an easy skip this year.

The “new” song “Lost” is great. And honestly broke me a little bit hearing Bennington & the lyrics.

I thought the record was pretty good, but similarly need a good second listen. My first reaction though was it was definitely more chill than anything they've done previously (including After Laughter) Also, I dont recall Hayley's vocal shining as much as they typically do at some point on a record. 

Same here. We hit a spot outside of Seattle and it wasn't bad at all, though I am sure the locations in the city were a bit busier. We showed up an hour early (Poor me, I had to spend extra time at a record store 🤣) and were the first ones to get wrist bands. People walking in right before start time still managed to snag copies.

Also, the flexis are currently going for $180-$200 on Discogs/Ebay.

I think "The One That Got Away" is probably what Rivers was referring to when he mentioned Elliott Smith, mainly because it's very likely inspired by Jennifer Chiba, an ex of his who was Elliott Smith's partner when he died. Musically, though, it's still very much Weezer.

Sounds absolutely nothing like ES, if there is any influence at all its barely detectable  

I'm not a huge fan of Elliott Smith, so not sure if this sounds like him...but after first listen I feel like Winter EP just sounds like some the most Weezer songs the bands put out since White album. Loved 'I Want a Dog' and 'Dark Enough to See the Stars' as well as 'The Deep and Dreamless Sleep'.
I feel like there's a really solid album if you essentially take the standouts from each EP.

I just recently moved to flip through as well - I love it!

I know. My living room is miniscule and this is the only wall where the TV can go. Not pictured on the other side is the theater-like recliner sofa. Shit is comfy.
I do plan to size down to a 2x4 Kallax and move the TV down quite a bit. One of many things on my to-do list.
