I reported a lower price to Amazon (Best Buy), and they price matched.  It is now $23.99: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B012HOEOPS/ref=as_li_qf_sp_asin_il_tl?ie=UTF8&camp=1789&creative=9325&creativeASIN=B012HOEOPS&linkCode=as2&tag=theoffici075f-20&linkId=E4D7KBXB4AZE5MYA

I just got negative feedback because the buyer was upset that I sent them an old Adidas sneaker instead of a record. The nerve of some people!

I think you have a poor attitude as a seller. That's your customer and you should follow their wishes or cancel the order if you cannot meet their expectations. Fact is that many sellers don't know how to ship a record and seam splits occur. Buyer was probably fed up with it and sends the same instructions to all sellers. It's a smart move.

I guess Amazon has it for less but you can't know what variant you're getting if you're into that sort of deal. I tend to be a marbled man myself

I've gotta say, I'm not really digging the fact that all of the covers this guy has for his presses are nods to completely random classic albums. I guess I just don't get it. Just because the music is on vinyl, and music on vinyl is typically like... regular albums... so... we'll design the covers like famous albums.....

Yyyeeeeaaahhh I dunno, I'd rather he just makes a classy and simple design that fits the tone of the game. Like, if I owned that Castlevania soundtrack, it would just be awkward to me that the cover spoofs London Calling. Like... why? What's the connection to that album in particular? Why London Calling? Couldn't it at least be an album that has some sort of marginal connection to the source material?

It makes me feel like the Pokemon soundtrack should be beatles-styled pokemon covers, castlemania should be punk-styled castlevania covers, zelda should be pink floyd-style zelda tracks... but no. It's just... because "HEY I RECOGNIZE THAT!"

Anyone who says $40 is reasonable is the reason when single LPs now cost $20-25.

I think people have to take a long hard look at why things like this are increasingly happening in this scene. Why do bands or band members think they can use the guitar around their neck as an invitation to violate a woman? People can laugh about the Riot Girl and Girls Up Front reaction fostered in the 90s - and certainly creeps existed - but they certainly knew they weren't welcome. Similar to how when I was a kid a wicked Neo-Nazi faction existed that is now by and large gone - it takes action and sometimes very forceful, direct and uncomfortable action. This isn't my scene but those of you that are fostering it are due for a swift and radical shift in attitude and direction. Don't wait for someone else to dictate it, take control and foster the environment you want to remember not the bullshit. People can laugh about some of the insane shit and bands we supported in the 90s but like fuck if there was a person in that room that wasn't welcomed and comfortable.

Good luck gang. Fuck the internet tirades and create the venues you want, create the music you want to hear and be among the people you want to love and support.

Ok, so I MAY be jumping the gun a bit here, but Baroness have started teasing on Facebook and Instagram about what is likely their new album.
They've been known to be recording for a while now, but it seems like they're gearing up to make some sort of announcement soon.
Yesterday we had this, with the words "Any colour you like":

And then just a moment ago this, with no explanation:

I can't fucking stand fake ass Internet SWJs in their early 20's who probably don't volunteer any of their time at organizations or shelters or donate money to worthwhile charities, yet feel like they're entitled to tell people how to act and feel in the most annoying possible ways. I guess it's easier to pretend like you're making a difference simply by being an asshole to strangers on the Internet opposed to actually trying to help those you're relentlessly defending. Too bad you can't put that on a college application or resume, Kiddo.

The new protester 7" is now up at BBB. I dig these guys - one of my favorite current dc bands. It great to see a SXE band that doesn't look like starting members of the varsity crosscountry team. You can stream it: http://bbbrecords.bandcamp.com/album/no-identityand buy the 7" in the BBB webstore - 300 white, 700 black.

I really cannot wrap my head around the surprise that a record label is putting out their music on other formats lol. There have been like 5 "oh so you're doing cassettes now?" comments in the RFC cassette thread in the cassette collective board. As if that didn't give it away enough.

Do you think you'll start pushing them out on CD???

Four black sabbath tapes from Ireland and Father Mesh "For the Disturbed" from 1994. Never heard of them before, probably some local group. Only a few songs on it but it kicks ass.
Also found a lot of recorded live phish, grateful dead, etc.. Some phish labels too but those are dried up now

I don't really listen to phish but I know they have some serious followers and collectors that maybe someone would buy this. Didn't want to see it separate at the goodwill outlet
