I don't know anything about that but as an Englishman the idea that a band would infiltrate our borders to sell themselves as homegrown talent from Sheffield greatly amuses me.

This is fascinating to me because while I’ve never passionately explored every nook and cranny of it, “indie” and its many variations have never been a stranger to my music library, and I still hadn’t heard a single song off AM’s debut until about a month ago.  Brianstorm was the only song of theirs I had heard from one of the Guitar Hero titles back in the day, but that’s about the extent of my AM exposure.  I guess I’d have a different stance if that record’s songs were shoved down my throat for the last decade.  Kings of Leon and Oasis are basically the indie variations of butt-rock, to me, so if AM fits into that category, I can see where the distaste comes from.

I'm not saying this for any cool guy points or anything, but I've never actually heard the Arctic Monkeys. Their first album came out when I had stopped paying attention to "indie rock"

Nah from what I can tell they're just pretty self assured asshats who produce subpar music that is massively overrated. Oasis have all the drama between the bros n from the video posted above its actually pretty hard to work out if they're trying to be taken seriously or just playing bizarre charicatures.  Either way for a video of just over two minutes its a hard cringe.

Arctic Monkeys are the indie rock equivalent of something awful from pop. Untalented musicianship, childish lyrics, and didn’t they come from a talent show? BRITAIN’S GOT ACCENTS

It's up on Bis Aufs Messer and I grabbed it as well as bookmarked that site. When I get together some more cash I'm gonna fill out some of the other Elverum gaps in my collection. Thanks again @mesi
