The Fire reissues are a bit flat, but they were cheap to pick-up. There was some issue with licensing and the band were not consulted or received anything for the RSD albums. Apparently they (Sonic Boom & Will) wanted to do a more significant series of reissues, but felt  this couldn’t happen without label support and making the albums being available again was also problematic. There’s been so many SM3 reissues, and for the first few albums I don’t think they’ve improved on the original early pressings.

I have all the Superior Viaduct reissues, they all sound pretty good imo

I have the pink in clear and it sounds fantastic. My most spun record of last year probably.

Hopefully that effect(what I assume is color in color) on the LD store turns out. It does, it’s gonna look sick. If not, got another Touché debacle on our hands. But I’m cool paying $20 less for the Matador variant. Really like she’s still going with a clear for this album too. Probably pick that up just to have them all on clear.

How did she not make a VHS version of this? 

For whatever this is worth, on their Instagram, I asked "Does anyone know if this has all of the original samples restored?" and they "liked" my comment. Of course, that's not confirmation but it was some sort of acknowledgment. I currently have three copies of this album on vinyl (one from 2004 I believe, the 2012 "blue wave" version and the 2017 blue indie exclusive) and I'm going to have to listen to them closely tomorrow to see what differences there are. If what people said in this thread so far is true, the 2012 blue wave version  SHOULD have the original Frontier Psychiatrist but the other two should not (unless my 2004 version is also a UK copy). Otherwise, the samples should be the same between all three copies and the following note which is on Discogs should be true.
 
 
To be clear, what we're all hoping for is that this deluxe version contains the OG Frontier Psychiatrist AND also has the the above samples also included, right? Just want to make sure we're on the same page about the "original mix" and what it really means. 

I never loved this record, but I enjoy the modern takes on the tunes, so this will probably get more listens than the original. 

Norman Records has said that more of these will be available in 3-4 months so take that for what it’s worth.

I haven't received an email yet, but my order from Juno now shows "preorder cancelled" in my Juno account. And  I know I got my order in pretty quick.
 
Norman records in the UK has said that they expect to have more of these in 3-4 months. Hopefully that is true and MBV keeps it all in print.

Maybe its me, but the t-shirts are kinda whack. I get they are throwbacks, but I thought the ones they put out a few years ago were way better.

Yeah, I’ve definitely noticed less in the past year. But yeah probably 2. 
 
 
I get that they stopped doing it because of streaming, but it’s a bummer because people who want physical copies probably maintain a digital library as well. 
 
or to put it another way, people who value a tangible thing most likely want to extract as much tangibility out of a non-physical item as well.  And a mp3 > streaming in that regard.
