Also, and maybe this is more to the general audience in case anyone is in a similar boat, keep in mind that this pressing has had some issues (locked grooves and skips). So, if you buy from VMP, it'll be easier to get a replacement sent to you for free than if you buy from some moody teenager in Oklahoma who just wants your $80 and would rather you eat his shorts than help you get a replacement.

I really liked those Bob's Buskers videos when they were posted online but this set isn't quite a fit for me.
Poking my head in though to say that if you can afford this and want to buy it, please do it and enjoy it. My natural state is 'snarky and judgmental' so I get the instinct to want to harp on other people who buy collectables that you don't quite understand or enjoy but, in the end, it's a mis-use of energy and doesn't reflect well on one's self to indulge that instinct. IMO, not giving in to your own penchant for negativity and choosing to be better than that is what makes someone an adult.

Just moved into a new place and got a new turntable, since I was using my old roommate's for the past few years. Set up is a blue U-Turn Obit Plus with the cue lever upgrade -> Onkyo TX-8020 -> KLH AV-830 and around 130 records in two wooden apple crates.

I heard that the scratches from the Diskeeper sleeves come from the "c" that fell off the name and floats loosely in every inner sleeve.

I also heard that this is all hyper-vigilant over-thinking and that most likely people are just seeing their records in a different angle/light and seeing normal hairline marks that are already there.

My referral code didn't work a few months ago. It took 3-4 messages and a few days to sort out. I think this is just bad timing for you since it's a hype heavy, panic inducing, FOMO-full moment in vinyl referral history. It's not a scheme to reward veteran members by punishing new members.

JK. That's a cool souvenir/memento. I hope you get a good offer for it!

A lot of people love their 2.5 super clear sleeves. They are really clear.
The 3.0 budget sleeves (100 pack) are great too and the ones I prefer (and cost less). IMO, I like the gummier sleeves that feel/look like the ones you see in record stores. The handling is nice and they don't easily slide, like the 2.5 clear sleeves, so it's less anxiety inducing to place a stack of records on a table or shelf for a moment. My records in 2.5 clear sleeves often slide .0001 seconds after I put them down and I have to make sure they don't fall off the surface I've just placed them on.
The 5.0 clear sleeves are like putting your records in a tank. It feels like overkill to me. I only bought 1 pack of those and didn't feel like I needed that thick of a sleeve.

They do offer a guaranteed way to get every AOTM but you decided you didn't want to pay the cost. Unfortunately, they don't offer an option where you can  just do the crate sub and also guarantee that you can get a copy of every AOTM you're interested in. If that's what you wanted (or you interpreted them as promising you that), I can definitely see how that'd be frustrating but it seems like a pretty straight-forward set of options. Pay more for more certainty or pay less and be OK with having delayed access to items if/when they reach the member store.

dnl, if you are asking for suggestions for record dividers as a gift for vinyl addict, I'd say you should think of another gift idea- it seems he doesn't need dividers for his collection.
If you were asking for yourself, I would recommend making your own. You can buy thin wood for pretty cheap and most hardware stores will make simple cuts for you for free (or a few dollars) and you can use paint or markers to make the letters. Or you can buy one of those $20 packs of plastic dividers and print out a design for each letter and glue/tape that design on to the tabs.

That's true. I just want to make sure the buyer knows that I'm trying the best I can to help them in the situation before PayPal gets involved. As of right now, no paypal claim has been filed, but I'm sure it will happen soon. I've documented everything up until now so I'll be prepared. I am definitely not expecting USPS to even answer my claim really, haha.

    Deep breath!
If the item was marked as delivered, you are 100% safe. What (most likely) happened is that the package was stolen from your buyer's door/porch/public mailbox area. It happens and it sucks. Sometimes, the buyer understands the situation and, while upset, they acknowledge that it is not the seller's fault that a third-party committed a theft against them; other times, they figure "Hey, I might as well try and get a refund from the seller anyway."
The only way PayPal will side with the buyer is if a PayPal employee makes a mistake. And, IF that happens, all you need to do is call PayPal and say "Hey, I want to appeal this. Here is proof of delivery." and they'll overturn the decision in your favor. It's very simple and, at worst, will just involve you calling them a few times until you reach someone who understands the situation and corrects it. Under no circumstances should you try contacting PayPal and sorting it out via email. Their email support is awful. Call them.
Beyond that, you might receive some nasty messages from the buyer but you are safe/good/in the right. Don't let other people's PayPal nightmare rants deter you from knowing your rights and assuming the worst. I hope this helps!

Just keep living your life, keep your head up, choose options that come your way as they come. IF she decides that she's ready for a relationship again and IF she wants to reach out to you and IF you are still interested in pursuing a relationship with her at that time, you'll want to be in a healthy, productive place where you can accept that offer as your best self and in your best mindset. Give yourself enough credit as a person/human to consider that you deserve and can find someone else who is available and a match and at the right point in their life to be with you. And give her enough credit to take her at her word as a smart, capable person/human and avoid entertaining any exciting imaginary scenarios about her secretly wanting you to change her mind/win her back or her secretly having another lover, etc etc. It's too easy to waste 6 months fantasizing about the past instead of actually building yourself up and living your life.

VMP and VC forums are very similar, I think. Main difference is that VMP mods/members will immediately run out new posters who want to troll, trash on a band/record, or act hardcore. On VC, you can be hardcore and get in flame wars and you'll just be ignored eventually. No one will tell you to leave.
Most of the venom at VMP is reserved for 1) the company itself when they institute new policies or make mistakes and 2) posters who are rude or criticize other posters. If you're chill and not looking to spar with strangers online, it's a pretty  nice forum. I actually like that the temptation to be snarky and indulge your worst impulses is not rewarded or encouraged. I know it's helped me avoid making overly negative posts and be more thoughtful with my criticisms of bands/records.

    I'm half-way through.
I really like it but be warned that the lyrics are very straight-forward and simple, so there is no escaping the constant dialogue about his wife dying and having to continue his day to day tasks with his 1 year old daughter alone. I've seen multiple people online say they can't handle the lyrics but I've managed to enjoy the album a lot.
