hey guys this is cory from the video thanks for "getting" what i was doing lol.

thats def pics of nick alt on the wall of his own store wtf. the cultish vibes in there are palpable. nick was actually there but he RAN in the back of the store when i walked in (thats why i ask whats back there). the #dinnerparty rack was so dire. fucking helen reddy's greatest hits for $12 and a fucking walter murphy ("this guy does the theme to family guy!") for $15 or something...

the other nice woman working at the store was srsly bummed after i asked about the lack of metal and proceeded to punish by listing all these doorcore bands she was into (shes a huge sleep fan btw). she also mentioned that they poached her from southern lord. i asked if vynl was taking care of her and she gave me an enthusiastic "yes!" i can't hate.

sorry for the shitty video i was trying to be discreet jeeze.

i disagree, from a marketplace perspective things are good at the moment, but it doesn't take much to shake it up. Those "buyers" will wax and wane depending on economic conditions. Also the buyers you reference don't have a steady dependable income, a cash reserve put away for emergencies  and self control to follow a budget. I just think it is a bad idea to think you have a nest egg or cash reserve in your record collection that you could cash out if you ever got it position where you needed cash, unless you discount the value of your collection by 50%.

    this is wrong.

the idiots are in the thousands and they will pay for it. most of them young enough with expenses from living at home (not a knock, just how it is )pop punk is prob the biggest selling genre amongst most of the folk here and on ebay. hell, they'll buy a flipped copy just to flip it more.

there will never be a brand new album that never sells.

    ever.

Yeah, this place is great for information on what's the latest splatter vinyl currently racking up sales on ebay. As far as actual knowledge, I'm afraid you're in the wrong place.

I've never heard of this band, but I found the album title interesting.  The music is alright but they look like jerkoffs.

Why doesnt everyone just stfu and stop being an asshole to the newb. This place is full of them.
Way to chase away another new member.
As ive mentioned in other threads OP, this site is honestly just to keep up with Preorders etc. Other than that its a bunch of children who love very poor bands that will be forgotten about in 10 years.
end rant...bring on the hate you bastards!

Yeah this board was fun back then. People weren't as dickish, and there was at least some sort of semblance of unity as far as music went. I thought it was bad in Virgils later days, never thought I'd see so many bad movie soundtracks, and Drive Thru represses.
Anyway, this is my quarterly post.  Have a great weekend everyone!

Seriously, if someone pressed those albums, half the people on this board would pay 25/30 bucks for em. Especially if they were Pirates Press wacky splatters/hazes and neato gatefolds.

Don't feel bad at all OP. There has been so much worse that people get boners over on here.

Once upon a time, long ago, in a far away land. This was a punk oriented board. No pretty much everyone is gone and a new batch of hipsters took it over.

Just look at the ads on the board you're posting on..

Y is one of my favorites. I always recommend Planetary - can't express enough how brilliant it is.

I've been following the Lemiere "Hawkeye" and it's only a couple issues in but I like the focus on origins.

Some people in this thread just seem to be on a misguided witch hunt... VYNL was a terrible idea from the start. While it's not particularly for me, Vinyl Moon is not a bad idea. Comps are always a great way to hear new artists.

Good luck keeping everything on time though! That is going to be no small task.

Whenever I see this from some new jack vinyl website, it immediately tells me that the site has nothing to offer me.

IMO it's just as easy to search for a record on discogs and click "add to collection" on a mobile device as it would be to take a picture or scan a barcode and then have to verify that it is the correct pressing listed anyway.

Also, the incorrect plural from of vinyl is used on the website's main page.
