This shit is not good. 

Totally agree, I was out based on "Light" but "Drool" turned my opinion around a bit. I had hoped for a continuation of their previous sound, but reading how he/they talk about the new album piqued my interest - preordered the blue/seaglass.
 
"Unlike any previous It Looks Sad. project, these 15 songs are more partial to synths than guitars. Opening track “Shave” recalls the thumping shimmer-pop of Washed Out, and there’re a series of sub-two-minute interludes that soak Turner’s disaffected voice in auto-tune a la fellow NC musician Mathew Cothran (Coma Cinema). Whereas Turner’s early material reached out to pull listeners in, Sky Lake builds a world that’s lush and inviting but doesn’t beg to be entered. Its hooks are noticeably less immediate than the ones on Kaiju, and the lyrics—though directed toward another unnamed “you,” a mysterious other whom Turner has sang at for years—are more ambiguous.
 
“I really wanted to write songs that just sounded like a dream, or visuals/symbols,” Turner says.
 
Although dreamy is a trite adjective, Turner says that the record, named after the Florida neighborhood he grew up in, is literally “a fantasy story of my dreams and things I’ve seen or hear in the woods while I walk.'"

Not sure if this track will be on the new album, but it's pretty excellent.
 
 

So “Whole” is definitely coming out. I just picked up a copy of the reissue at a local shop but I’m not sure when the actual release date is. But it’s coming out through Tooth and Nail/UMG. (The same as the Starflyer 59 Silver reissue.)

Make sure you check out your local craigslist/offerup/letgo/facebook marketplace. I get a really good deal on those sites with some of my stuff like speakers and other things.. You can also watch searches on them, like I get a notification in my area whenever anything with "Technics" in the title is listed.

c'mon, when you join a community only to defend a product you're affiliated with, at least have the decency to be honest about the fact. By trying to hide your obvious connection to the project, you're doing it a disservice. 
 

BSM and a handful of domestic labels have been doing that for a while now - agreed it's a great feature!

This album surpassed my expectations and I loved AM, so many tracks on this album just rip - "Grab it From the Garden" just keeps getting better as the  song goes on. Love these guys.

But when that 15 minutes is solid gold, it doesn't matter.  I'm in!

Pre-ordered with haste, and I'm a fan of the color combo. I'd much rather buy this direct from Asthmatic Kitty than through a site like SSD, but psyched nonetheless.

Same, this is actually one of my favorite Sufjan releases. Mainly because it was the first CD I bought of his (randomly in high school) but it's got some great songs and is fairly underrated in comparison to his other releases

I am beyond excited to see this is getting a vinyl pressing - over the years I've come to like this album as much if not more than Illinoise.

Oh hell yes, ordered real quick! $40 was a tough pill to swallow though for 8 songs, but who knows when we'll see this again.

Control is one of the best rock albums of my lifetime.

A Kickstarter would be less tacky. Holding onto 200 records to sell at an inflated price is lame.

Anyone into the Chillhop Essentials seasonal album series?  I just recently, within the last month or so, discovered these collections and not only are they fantastic compilations, they're also a great source for me to discover new lofi/triphop artists.  I put in a PO for the Spring 2018 vinyl.  Been looking at getting back catalog vinyl but have only been able to secure Fall 2017 so far.  Anything before that is pretty high up there in market value and I'm just not in a position to unload a bunch of money on it.

That they're reissuing these and not Swiss Army Romance....wtf
