  1. http://store.doomtree.net/category/chime "Chime, my new album, will be released on February 23rd, 2018. It’s 11 tracks, a couple of years in the making, and the collective effort of some old friends (Lazerbeak, Cecil Otter, Paper Tiger) and some new collaborators (both hands pointing to Andy Thompson). It’s got some rap songs and some pop songs and one song about determinism that name-drops Saint Thomas Aquinas. The single, "Fire Drills," is out now. And the album pre-order is up and running. (If you've been with us for a while, you know how important the pre-order is for indie labels like ours.) Assorted physical packages from the Doomtree store include handwritten lyrics, limited-edition apparel, new poetry, and a wooden money clip engraved with GET RICH SLOW: http://smarturl.it/DessaChime.) I’m lucky to have connected with a listenership that’s willing to support my work across disciplines—to read my essays that have nothing to do with music, or attend a science lecture, or check out a poetry reading. Now, I’m enormously excited to make a return to making records. This album, like those past, will be released by Doomtree, the independent group of artists with whom I’ve worked for all of my adult life. Industry norms dictate that a pop musician should release a full-length record every year and a half, lest she risk losing the interest of her listeners. Thanks for the patience while I finished this shit. I don't want to jinx it, but I think 2018 is gonna be a hell of a year. More news soon. -Dess." Standard edition on black vinyl and deluxe version on signed clear vinyl. "Collector's edition" with handwritten lyrics and a unique Polaroid is already sold out.
  2. And a tour too. Looking forward to this. I'll probably put in an order later tonight.
  3. Documented meaning on discogs and such? I've wondering about it being covered with home owner's insurance but, since I have no experience filing an insurance claim like this, I wasn't sure what was sufficient evidence of ownership.
  4. Yeah, looks like it. Before there were uptions for CDs, LPs, and 7"s. Looks like only the CD bundles are left.
  5. Also, I wonder if any of you agree with this. My friends and I talk of the “curse of track 4.” For their last three albums (Beggars, M/M, and To Be...), the albums have been really good, except for track 4. The 4th song on each of those records are borderline terrible, and I’d be hard pressed to find a bad song on any of their other albums. I’ll be interested to see if the curse continues with their next album.
  6. That looks pretty sweet. I was kind of hoping it was going to be less cool than the original, so I wouldn’t want to pick up another copy, but with how cool it looks, I’ll probably try to pick one up.
  7. I saw them a year or two ago, opening for Coheed I believe. And it was...underwhelming. But, I have liked both of their recent EPs, so I'm excited to hear this.
  8. From David Bowie's facebook: https://www.facebook.com/davidbowie/posts/10154831124542665 "HEROES" ALBUM UPDATE While attempts were made to maintain the integrity of the issue that existed on the original master tape of the "Heroes" album, fans’ concerns have been listened to and a new master is being created to replace the current one. As soon as the new file is available, the digital versions will be updated and those of you who would like a replacement "Heroes" album will be eligible for one. Further details on how to obtain your replacement CD and/or vinyl will follow in due course. In the meantime please retain your proof of purchase. Thank you for your continued patience and sincere apologies for any inconvenience caused. #ANCIANTbox #ANewCareerInANewTownBox
  9. This album is really cool. I've listened to it like 6 or 7 times today already. I too would agree that I miss Todd's gruff yelling, but I think his cleaner singing parts work well too.
  10. After 2 listens through the album, I really like it. I thought Descensus was pretty solid, but never found myself returning to it much. And I wasn't crazy about Violent Waves. So, I've been pleasantly surprised with this album. And I agree, autumn is a good time of year for Circa Survive.
  11. Thanks for this. For some reason, I was thinking it was open until sometime in October, so I would've put it off for sure.
  12. Yeah. Got the Indie coke bottle clear from my local store and it is indeed coke bottle clear.
  13. Cool. Hadn't heard anything about this before, but I'm looking forward to checking it out.
  14. So, if I order this now, it comes with an immediate download?
  15. I'll definitely check this out. I'd agree that what I like most about IAMX is Chris' vocals, so I'm a little unsure about an instrumental album. Also, agree that the first three albums need to be pressed. And I still need to check out Metanoia Addendum.
  16. That's a bummer, man. I was never really into these guys growing up, but it's sad to see this happen.
  17. So excited for this. I hope they do a bit more touring to support this album.
