Thanks for the tip... Grabbed a DVD for my folks and the brand-new reissue of Floyd's Animals was like $17 & change (with free shipping!)....

Get your facts right. Everyone knows Creed was the Nickelback of the 90s.

Yup. I'm pretty baffled myself about the point of buying an illegitimate bootleg release... when the official version is available everywhere.
    And sounds better.
    And costs $10 less.

    Pretty colors????

Not sure what people are complaining about. The red splatter vinyl looks fantastic... Maybe not like the mock-up, but very cool regardless.
The white splatter could've been done better (probably should've made it blue splatter so the records match the artwork) but still, these are #firstworldproblems.

More importantly, the vinyl is MILES better than the CD. We're talking audiophile 90s vinyl (which rarely happens), right up there with the 45 RPM reissue of August & Everything After. Goes to show what an AAA transfer plus Chris Bellman will do for your record. Wish more bands would care this much about sound quality.

Thanks, Glad to share my opinion with the community on what I think of this horrible band and their shit music and this album. The splatter vinyl does look nice though.

As soon as Radiohead fans accept the fact that all Radiohead fans have a different favorite Radiohead album, we can stop the bickering and make the world a better place....

Honestly, I agree with most of this post. The OP of Ten blows away the new reissue, which shouldn't EVER happen if a band of PJ's stature actually cares about the quality of their vinyl pressings. The last few releases (Backspacer, LB) haven't been great from an audio standpoint. I'm still hunting an OP of Vs. for a cheap price, rather than wasting $$ on what I know from countless sources is a bad reissue. It is a shame that the one band championing vinyl during the dark days of the 90's doesn't seem to care about quality now that we're in a resurgence.

To offer a more accurate counterpoint than DMB (who actually put out BTCS in 1998, definitely a widespread vinyl release for the time).... Nirvana's catalog on ORG sounds pretty fantastic. And those were recent reissues... But all-analog and done with care.
On the flipside, Soundgarden's reissues haven't been anything to write home about. Alice In Chains is all MOV, with mixed results. The Black Crowes reissues (which coincide with the same era of PJ reissues) missed the boat too. Pearl Jam isn't the only band putting out half-assed reissues... But they seem like the one that SHOULD care more.

I would love to see an analog specialty label get a crack at PJ's back catalog. I'm fine with paying $30 for a record with top-notch sound, versus $20 for another reissue that sounds like the CD on vinyl. But I don't see it happening anytime soon.

Except it kinda does. Put it in the album in alphabetical order with the rest (after Present Tense, before Tinker Tailor...). It flows pretty nicely.

You need to own more records. I had the OG Yield... Nothing special. The OPs of Ten and Vitalogy are much better... Plus there's a ton of reissues and originals from other bands that kill it for SQ as well. 1997 wasn't a great time for new vinyl.

Including the guy who started it... $36K in tax-free dollars. No laws broken, no legal recourse.

He's probably already been swooped up by Wall Street. "If you could convince hipsters to drop $36,000 on shitty Dan Fogelberg records, imagine what you could sell to rich clients who want to update their portfolios..."
