I don't get the "Futures was the beginning of the end" comments - Futures is fantastic but INVENTED is easily one of their best and most underappreciated albums - nearly perfect. I'd rate them 1. Agreed completely. Each has a special niche that it fills. What we might consider the "worst" JEW album doesn't necessarily mean it's bad. Band is consistently great.
