imaxcowboyx
whoa haha! best response i've seen on the board for awhile. i mean, i've got an iphone, so I'm not totally unplugged when i leave work. kind of wish I was though. I'm actually a web developer/software engineer with no internet at home. The tech version of the mechanic with a shitty car i suppose
glass realms
Ty played an unannounced solo show in Chinatown in Downtown LA last night. Just him and a 12-string electric guitar. He played a handful of songs including Sleeper, a few off Manipulator, Goodbye Bread and ended with Paranoid.

warhenrecords
What a bold statement since he has had one release since than Twins/Gemini Sleeper not to mention Fuzz counting, how does it work?
timsimmons
It doesn't really matter because this is his best album ever.

Moglog
Shit. This Conan performance. Can't wait to piss off my neighbors by blasting this album. http://www.stereogum.com/1698758/watch-ty-segall-absolutely-destroy-on-conan-playing-new-song-feel/video/
shanerockey
Did anyone notice that Jimmy Fallon held up a different cover before he played his single last night? Anyone have any info on this?
timsimmons
You mean Conan. Watching DRA too? Maybe its a promo copy or the LP has different art.
warhenrecords
That Conan performance was fucking tits. Ty on a Les Paul too!
timsimmons
Figured out the album cover stuff. Saw the longer clip on my DVR. Its the back the record. As Conan picks it up you see the regular cover art, but he's showing the back which clearly states the artists-title. Makes sense. kamalatapes

mcpherson123
A classmate gave me a CD burn of the leak and I got about a third of the way through it and decided I'm definitely picking it up.
laughingstalk
Look, I realize this is a Ty thread so there's gonna be fans, but what really is grabbing you guys with this album? I'm big on Goodbye Bread and Melted, but the new stuff is so gummed up it doesn't go anywhere. There's still the 90's throwback but more heavy on the wall of sound than riffs, and the 70's pop rock stuff has gone from T-Rex/Mott the Hopple to Steely Dan/Hall and Oates. I'd say my top 3 is Self Titled, Goodbye Bread then Twins This album reminds me of a complete Twins/Goodbye Bread hybrid but heavy Goodbye Bread. I really dig the contrasts from heavy to light songs. It's got a great feel good vibe for me the same way Ty Segall & White Fence album hit home. Idk I guess I like the 70s pop rock stuff

Vern
He played a tune off of the new album on Conan recently. Thought it was a brilliant performance. Funny reading the comments though. People don't seem to like him nor get him. Bizarre to me! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=O99Id3Iq2fw

degenerex
45 Minutes into this WTF interview. Ty's life story isn't as interesting as most people Maron has on, but I'm enjoying the hell out of listening to them talk about music. Also, I think Manipulator is right up there with Melted and Slaughterhouse
