The debut single from Richard Jamie Oliver, Stuart Richardson, Luke Johnson, Mike Lewis, Lee Gaze, and Geoff Rickly is as distinct as first impressions get. “Stay” is a sharp and immediate exercise in pop-noir, while “Eyeshadow” brings post-punk into the present tense: It’s uptempo for the downtrodden.

It's poppy but I like it. So are they releasing the United Nations s/t too? I see it on the site but there's no other info available.

I believe they "co released" that album when it originally came out. Same with that Touché album and the other album in their store. This release is their first solo release. Not sure if it means there will be a repress of UN or not, but I'd be all for it. I got an OP on eBay that was in questionable shape.

not their best, imo, but better than common existence, a city, and war all the time.

i do, though, feel like no devotion is the band geoff has wanted to be in since he was a teenager.  good on 'em.

No Devo > WAAT > ACBTLD > Full Collapse > Common Existence > Waiting.

boom.

Full Collapse is really overrated. They really expanded their sound and atmosphere after that record.

The nostalgia factor plays a big part in the way I would rank Thursday's albums. I like all of them though, and do thoroughly enjoy the way they progressed. I also like this new project quite a bit, although I admittedly would have probably been stoked for a more obvious blend of the lostprophets sound with Geoff's vocals.

I agree, I will stick with UN.

UN for sure.  I have nothing against Geoff's more melodic vocals - in fact, I think they're swell on this No Devotion track - but musically United Nations is far more engaging.  For me, anyway.  And based solely off this single... which probably isn't fair to the whole album.
