PO: Titus Andronicus - The Most Lamentable Tragedy 3LP

Recommended Posts

I really enjoyed Local Business.  I actually find myself throwing that on rather than The Monitor because it is just a damn good rock record, whereas I need to be in a mood and be able to fully engage in The Monitor.

Regardless, I'll be picking this up.  Can't come soon enough.

Who's blindly hating it? I said I liked the album and the person who kicked off this particular thread of conversation said they thought the new song was better than anything on Local Business. That's not hate, it's an opinion.

You two don't represent the group of people my comment was about, there are more opinions outside of this thread.

To me 'Local Business' was the right step away from the epic monstrosity that is 'The Monitor'. I always appreciated it as a sort of little brother to The Replacements' 'Let It Be'. It has those deeply moving songs next to super stupid freak-out stuff. Balanced really well.

Reading through the track list I feel like the new one's going to be a blown out continuation of it.

Like one part Monitor, two parts Local Business.

Can't wait for this. The Monitor is easily one of my favourite albums of all time. I really liked Local Business as well, though it took a while for me to fully appreciate it. The production on it is pretty horrible though.

Will definitely be buying this. I'm always skeptical with double albums but also have a firm belief that +@ can pull it off.

I like this track better than everything on Local Business. Excited to hear more!

Same. Loved The Monitor, probably one of the top 50 albums of all time for me. Local Business was a bit bleh for me. This has SO much promise though. I think only some bands can pull of double albums and Titus is one of them.
