I felt like I bought a lot less records this year. All my favorite releases have been digital only, none of my physical purchases have really blown me away this year.

Rocky Votolato - Hospital Handshakes

Metz - II

Four Year Strong - S/T

Soda Bomb - Wanna Jam?

Tommy Boys - S/T

Red City Radio - S/T

Refused - Freedom

Ghost Key - The Things I Am Not

Desaparecidos - Payola

Sorority Noise - Joy, Departed

Dikembe - Legde 7"

Foreign Tongues - Fragile, As Said Before

PO:

Beach Slang - The Things We Do To Find People Who Feel Like Us

How is that possible? Those are all the super high profile records of this year.

I'm old and tired. I used to be obscenely connected to new music back when Oink was around. I listened to everything and always knew what was up. I no longer have a music tracker to dl from and I just don't have time to read up on shit and look around.

Nah, 2013 was the 1994 of this decade. That year had an insane amount of great records from newcomers, established artists and legends.

2015 has been pretty damn good though. Definitely better than 2014 imo. Currents has really grown on me and I can't stop listening to it. I'd put it on top of my list if it wasn't for To Pimp a Butterfly. I doubt anything will top it.

Last year was better than this year (so far). Like double d said I'm hoping cooler stuff will pop up as we enter the end of the year.

And I'd say 2012 and 2013 were pretty much on par, both had solid releases, although I prefer the former toe to toe (On The Impossible Past, Masked Intruder, OFF! followed by Home, Trouble Will Find Me, etc.)

Seriously, was an early fan of that first record....been onboard with that band for a bit now. This new record is horribly disappointing....I don't need electronic influences on a Tame Impala record (he's got that other project that I'm definitely NOT a fan of for that crap) nor do I need 80's pop intermingled in it. I also laughed when I saw the cover art....past two album covers were fairly decent and seemed to fit the mood of each album....this shit was on my elementary school trapper keeper.

"Currents" does absolutely nothing for me. Maybe in a few years it'll grow on me? I highly doubt it.

I am still optimistic about a second Melody's Echo Chamber album though

I pretty much agree as well especially the artwork it sucks ,they should've stuck with the previous artist. I guess I see it as Halloween 2

On its own it's ok not great. But as a part of their discography it's pretty weak.

It just reminds me of a cheap knock off of an air record.

-The new toro y moi was good

-Graveyard and kadavar lp's after the self titled and hisengen Blues were underwhelming.

-I'm anticipating the new uncle acid

-frank turner ,I hate to keep on this path but I'm not very optimistic. Tape deck heart just reminds me of 90's alt rock influences and a very easily accessible record.

Earl is the most skilled rapper from OF but apart from the debut mixtape, he hasn't really delivered a consistently good record so far IMO. Neither has Tyler but at least his first three concept albums were more intriguing and fun to listen to.

Speaking of Frank, I hope he releases at least something this year. He teased a summer album and then nothing happened.
