WAXWORKS RECORDS Official Mega-Thread

Recommended Posts

It seems like for a "new kid on the block" company that Waxwork is biting off more than they can chew with their constant slew of releases which seems to be competing with Mondo's timetable. I'm not saying that they can't do it, but they've had more than their share of issues...people still don't have their "blood-filled" F13s and I also heard that quite a few people got incorrect variants of ToT sent to them. Why push a re-press when you've got other pressing issues that need to be dealt with? They need to prioritize customer service, I think.

Shit. Total brain fart. I meant Blood Filled. I sent them a message, but haven't heard back.

Still waiting on mine too. Here's what they told me yesterday:

"The blood records are all shipping out this week. We have been steadily shipping them out as they have been manufactured. It has been a long, time intensive process getting those blood records made, and they are totally worth it!"

Not sure how it all dovetails with customer service/new releases, but I understand that a lot of folks are getting replacement LPs for their TrT splatter variants on account of how noisy the pressings are. From what I've read, they've been very accommodating to folks.

where did u read this? I just had to stop playing my trick r treat due to the amount of surface noise....I couldn't take it... Time to contact waxwork for a return I suppose...but still would like to read about it if u could point me the right way...didn't see anything on google about folks getting replacements...

Other boards. Just email them and ask. It's second hand information as I skipped this release, but I don't think folks are making it up. You won't get another splatter though. They'll replace it with a cleaner sounding pressing. So you'll probably have to decide which is more important to you. Bon chance.

Haven't seen this movie in a while, anyone remember if the score was that memorable?

Either way I'll probably pick this up, just curious.

I checked it out. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Day_of_the_Dead_%281985_film%29#Soundtrack

This is a nice expanded version with 37 tracks. Here's a rip and it's 1 hour 4 minutes.

Spotify lists 34 tracks, 1 hour 43 minutes for a similar version.

https://play.spotify.com/album/0Qhwn7kyde6JZb7jsmO9JX

The difference is Fight To Survive and tracks 29-34 aren't listed on the Waxwork version.

I don't know if the score is memorable but the music is decent.

Thanks! I don't care about the sppatter at this point...its way too annoying to listen to....the c and d sides are the worst....you can just hear surface noise like crazy ....emailing now.

Currently adding the finishing touches during a mastering session with Jay Yuenger for a very special upcoming release.

This new pressing differs from the movie’s original soundtrack, which only featured a few De Vorzon pieces.

Check out the official trailer for Starry Eyes - Film. We're excited to bring the soundtrack to vinyl early 2015.

Some of the music is decent and some of it is over the top cheesy. I'm happy with my original pressing (which I scored for $3 and was sealed) but would never buy the Waxwork version.

(Side note: finally got a shipping notification for my F13 blood-filled. I guess it'll be a nice christmas gift to myself?)
