popquizkid
Rewind to 2008. HOT WATER MUSIC shocks many by resurfacing for a string of reunion shows. Everyone was in a frenzy, shows sold out in record time, airline tickets were purchased and fans were ecstatic. No Idea Records got the crazy idea to record the shows to document the grand reunion. Turns out the results were amazing, so the label created a 7” series. Six volumes in total were made over 2010 and 2011. Each volume was limited to 1,000 copies and sold out immediately leaving many folks empty handed. Enter the present. No Idea takes the best version of every song they played at The Metro in Chicago on February 1st & 2nd, 2008 and compiles them into one collection. The final product boasts a 30-song, 90-minute live journey through the band’s history in your choice of three formats. Release Date: 9/27/11 via No Idea Records. Formats: -3xLP, die-cut, wide-spine jacket with printed inner sleeves. -2xCD -Digital (First time available for any of the songs.) Vinyl color variations will be announced on release date. There will be no pre-order for this collection! TRACK LISTING: 1. A Flight and a Crash 2. Remedy 3. Wayfarer 4. Trusty Chords 5. Jack of All Trades* 6. Rooftops 7. End of a Gun 8. Better Sense 9. monsterrod
Just when I thought I was done stressing about my collection of this HWM show, they pull me back in. This seems like a really sweet set and I can't wait to put in my order as soon as it goes up.
jerseydave77
Cripes - now I don't need the 7"s.
dynamitekid
Kinda lame. I thought this was going to be exclusive to the 7" set. But I guess the other songs make it ok.

I'll confess - I always prefer the collections over the 7" series. I'll likely let mine go since I'll have all the songs in a different form. IanRees
to each their own. i like the 7" series, but i would imagine i would actually listen to the 3xLP a lot more. Ive only listened to the 7"s once.
popquizkid
to each their own. i like the 7" series, but i would imagine i would actually listen to the 3xLP a lot more. Ive only listened to the 7"s once. I agree. It was fun/stressful to track down the 7-inches but it'll be nice to be able to listen to all of these songs without getting up every few minutes to flip a record. I'm curious how many variants they'll end up doing of these. Var, how about some of that fancy split color vinyl????
IanRees
some of that nice bottle clear split w/ another color would be very nice. i love the way my recent copy of feast and famine on half coke bottle clear/white looks from no idea.
