Yes like most other variants they command higher prices.

What record company doesn't charge more for different color releases? (no need to make a list , yes I know some charge base for variants.)

I get your point. I guess I just don't believe the thinking was "people will pay $50 for this t-shirt, and oh hey, let's be cool and throw in a limited flexi for free". I think it was "people will spend $50 on this as a bundle to get the flexi".

The link says White Stripes...but with it coming out this Friday Im betting it's Dead Weather.  My guess has been its a box set of their four previously released standard 7"s.

 

Hmm... $45 for 4 previously released dead weather singles is quite expensive, even for B&N. 

 

I know it says 7" vinyl, but my first thought was maybe it's some sort of Third Man Books title. Language Lessons Vol 1 is about that price. Maybe there's a language lessons vol 2 7" box or something. 

 

TMR and B&N seems like a weird pairing. Having an exclusive 7" box at B&N for one of Jack's bands makes no sense as they have no problems selling that stuff through TMR's store.
