Is the extra $100 really worth it for the acrylic platter and the Ortofon OM-3e MM cartridge? well the cart is about 20 dollars more, the platter... project offers an acrylic platter upgrade for $129 for the pro-ject turntables and then the paint job on the green looks a little bit better than the black... "We anticipate delivering in May, but as mentioned in our 'Risks and Challenges' section there is a lot to overcome between now and then. kidamnesiac Posted December 17, 2012 Share Posted December 17, 2012 The paint job in the photos make it look like a bit of a craft project...I've been keeping an eye on this, but I think I'll wait a little longer until it's in production and I can read some reviews of the sound and build quality. They really haven't given me any incentive to buy at the $150 price point for now. My family said they would put $150 towards a new TT so here's hoping I get another $100 from extended family. I kind of want to go for the limited edition that includes the acrylic platter but $250 plus shipping is too close to the cost of other entry level turntables.
