I don't look down on others who don't speak to the parents beforehand. I just find it romantic when they do! Romantic! That was the word I was trying to think of when I was describing what I would mean to me if my boyfriend did that. All I could think of was 'thoughtful', but romantic is another good way to describe it. On the topic of names. I also can't wait to ditch my last name. Think of the utterly most common, generic, boring last name, and that's what I have. My grandmother's maiden name was Slattery, which is much better than what she doomed the rest of us with when she married my grandfather hahaha.
