THE OFFICIAL EBAY CRAZINESS THREAD

Recommended Posts

Hahahahahahaha. I had to get on my phone at work to see this...but WTF!!! Should we message him? You think he knows his dick is out there?

I'm always making up crazy scenarios in my head. I see the picture and on the table is an attachment to some hair trimmer. Maybe he was mascaping, in a hurry, but had to post this Gameboy first. What a busy life he must live, can't even remember his Buck Strickland is hanging out and all. Is that cocaine on his table? Or baby powder? This guy really pampers his beans and frank man.

- was only announced as a pre-order yesterday

- is on Drag City (which means black vinyl and an unlimited pressing)

- costs $18ppd from the label's site

Not a record.. But I'd consider this eBay craziness. Maybe NSFW?

The price on that thing is actually not that insane, because that guy is not gonna pay that. After collecting video games for about 2 years what happening there is the person is going to message the seller saying something like "I wont pay (insert his bid here), but  I will pay (insert semi-reasonable price here). And most of the time the seller takes the "behind the door" offer. This happens a lot in video game stuff. Or, this is just a big joke. Also, if you think the vinyl market is insane, you gotta see some crap going on in the video game market. For example, one of the most common games in history (Super Mario Bros 3) goes for like $18-25 on average. Now imagine the bare minimum for say, Sgt.Peppers is $25. Vinyl prices don't seem to insane anymore. Not to say that the vinyl market isn't inflated...

But, that was one of the best ebay listings I have ever seen if my life.

I sold my copy of Earthbound for $180 a while back. Got it for $3. Videogame stuff can be crazy, I was really into it for a while, finally finished selling off almost everything recently. Kept a few select gems that I love.

damn it, earthbound was my "white whale".

I had a bunch of desirable SNES and NES games for a while there, I'd been collecting them as long as I'd collected records (about 10 years) and apparently I used to have incredible thrift store luck.  For whatever reason I passed on SNES Harvest Moon when I picked up that copy of Earthbound. I must have just not known how much it was worth at the time, because they were both only marked at $3.00, but I was low on cash.  Same place I picked up two NM M:tG Tropical Islands in a bunch of cards for $3.00 and some supposedly ridiculously priced Beatles records. Sold pretty much all of that stuff though a while back. I didn't have a ton of time to play the games and I just recently got out of playing Magic too.

dude video games are fantastic money online. Alot of the old PS1 RPGS go for mega bucks if you come across them. I used to work at a record store and they would throw out stuff bought from by customers that weren't complete....biggest loss of profit I had ever seen. I sold the discs for a game called Valkyrie Profile for $80 that was just the discs and the manual that I got for free. Its hard for me with that stuff sometimes though cuz I just wanna keep it usually =\

I ordered a record on e-bay last week and received it on the mail yesterday. The seller appears to have taken the record to the post office, bought the cheapest box available and shipped out. they used a box too small for a record and just folded it like an envelope and taped the side so the record wouldn't slide out. There was glue on the inside which was meant to be folded over which it wasn't so… guess what happened? the record stuck to the glue and i had to rip it off where it was stuck tot he back cover and part of the insert that slid out.

Sounds like some negative feedback is in order.

-Not crazy eBay record price related, but...-

About 5 and a half years ago, I lost my copy of Banjo Tooie on N64 somehow. My girlfriend and I collectively spent full days looking everywhere that we could think of in each of our houses. We looked for ages and hope started to fade but since it was one of my favourite games, I never gave up. Eventually, there was nowhere else it could possibly be so we came to the conclusion that someone we know must have grabbed it, accidentally or otherwise, as we would often have N64 sessions with people we knew.

I decided to have a look on eBay yesterday to try and get another copy because I loved the first person egg shooter game mode and needed to play it again. I was looking through the listings, and found a copy that looked incredibly similar to my old game. With the majority of our N64 games that we owned at the time, my super organized mother wrote the name on top of each game so that we could easily pick one out instead of flipping through all the cartridges. The copy on eBay looks identical to my mums writing so with 99% certainty of it being my old copy, I decided to grab it.

I also messaged the seller just to ask if he somehow remembered who sold it to him, and he just said "Sorry man, I've had it for a few years so I wouldn't have a clue". So the mystery of who took the game is still unsolved, but if it turns out to be my copy then it will be incredible.

Now to wait for it to arrive. Will post updates.
