RivannaJunction
I admittedly haven't heard like 99% of the songs mentioned herein, but the few that I have (The War, Gone, Clear the Air, Train In Vain, Farewell, Chamberlain Waits, Hampton Roads, among others)...just A+++ tracks. Good choices! My favorite closing track is probably 1-2-8 by the Mighty Mighty Bosstones (although 737/Shoe Glue and A Pretty Sad Excuse are also great entries to the category by them) Other favs! Avail - Fifth Wheel Hot Water Music - Giver Bruce Springsteen - Reason to Believe The Ducky Boys - Crumbling Heart Joe Strummer & The Mescaleros - Willesden to Cricklewood Social Distortion - Angel's Wings And some recent ones! Restorations - Adventure Tortoise Hot Water Music - Paid in Full Classics of Love - We Need A Change Dave Hause - Benediction OK, I've overstayed my welcome now. paynegretzky
off the top of my head, these have stood out: Built to Spill - Stab (There's Nothing Wrong With Love) - although there is a joke "preview" track after it, Stab is a great, full song to end the album. radiohead - life in a glass house (amnesiac) New Order - Leave me alone (Power, Corruption & Lies) Blu & Exile - The world is… (Below the Heavens) David Bowie - Rock n roll suicide (Ziggy Stardust)

kylekrische
Shocked it took 5 pages for someone to say Bright Eyes - Let's not Shit Ourselves. I'd add Cursive - What Have I Done. This song absolutely rips. Lyrics are incredible, structurally it's perfect, I just think it's one of the best things they've ever done and such a good ender song. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Zvdh5r6qRbA Also, to reverse. How about songs that SHOULD have been the ender but weren't? I always thought Young and Happy by Hop Along should have been the last song on Get Disowned! Felt like it wound down everything nicely and had a big, strong finish. backpackoat
