First the PA/DE/NJ route: Notice how it has been travelling in circles for a few days. Finally the USA route: Notice how it has been send half way across the USA before it shipped back the other way around to Europe. Conclusion: instead of raising their prices, they could make more money with improving the routing of the packages.
futures
good lord. one time a package of mine that was passed off from UPS did the grand ole usps tour de tri state. it was so frustrating watching it get passed around from trenton, nj, to kearny, nj, to jersey city, nj, to wilmington, de and back to trenton, nj before heading to my local PO. David The Gnome
Had a package out for delivery on Saturday; never showed up. Checked the tracking and it said "status not updated" or something like that. I assumed it would show up today. Just checked my tracking again and now it says it has been forwarded to a different address. Wonderful.

GreatGreenOne77
Does anyone know a valid reason a package would sit in the state right next door to the destination point for upwards of 4 days before it moves. I mailed a book for my wife and it left our city, went to our capital, then showed up in NJ and sat for 4 days waiting to go to NYC
David The Gnome
Valid reason? Probably not. It's much safer for your sanity not to try and relate reason/logic to anything pertaining to USPS. Honestly. Sometimes packages just sit. Maybe someone missed it, maybe it just didn't get scanned, who knows. moonbeams

I just recently started using the USPS dashboard to keep up with all my incoming and outgoing things, and whenever possible I choose the option to make the delivery point my front door. With it being 105+ here right now I surely don't want my records just hanging out in a parcel locker all day. It also alerts me as soon as something has been delivered so I know it's there and can shuffle off to get it to avoid missing the carrier or chance a record getting warped from the heat. I'll get a text, open my front door, and magically there's a package waiting for me.

David The Gnome
did you ever get your package that was supposed to be delivered on sat? Yeah, it ended up coming yesterday. It was sent back to the hub about an hour away, sat there for a day and then came back to me.
GreatGreenOne77
Didn't even know this was a thing. I'll definitely be using it. You can set it up to text you for deliver/attempt or for every move it makes you can get a text. Once you start a profile and load your address in it will let you know any kind of registered mail with your name/address pops up in their system. I can't remember how I stumbled across it either, probably while looking for shipping rates. https://my.usps.com/go/pages/intro/start.action

GreatGreenOne77
thats weird. i cant believe how awful usps continues to be With all the talk of how the postal service's business has declined you'd think they would install new ethics to get customers back, but that's a gov't run agency for you..The post right near me is a main hub and they have talked about closing it for damn near 3 years now..If that happens and I mail a letter to someone in town with me, the letter has to go to Columbia which is an hour one way, then get sent back here to be delivered across town.... Fowty Dollaz
Talk about a wrong turn. Guess I can expect that not coming today. Nope. It says today. You'll get it today. You're in MA, so that's not too bad. Your postman must have forgotten his regular route...
smeepo
It's gonna be like another 2 or 3 business days at least before that package makes it to MA. Gotta love the USPS.
YouTwo
I have a package coming that shipped from a record store less than 50 miles away on Monday and I'm STILL waiting for it. I could have walked there by now.
futures
Talk about a wrong turn. Guess I can expect that not coming today. thats frustrating bc of the 2 day priority. i think in all the times ive opted for 2 day, i've only ever gotten it in 2 days once. just a normal guy kevin
I shipped two different shirts in two packages via First Class and dropped them off at the mailbox on my street corner- one on Saturday and one on Sunday.Oddly, they both never had their tracking info update and, after two weeks of no real help from the local post office, they never arrived to my buyers so I refunded both buyers and assumed the packages were lost.Tonight, I'm walking down the street with my girlfriend and I notice a sticker on the floor that looks a lot like the stickers I put in my packages. It's the exact same one. I look a few feet away and I see a dirty, empty bubble envelope...that has my address and the buyer's address on it.So, to recap, two weeks after I drop them off at a post office box, I find one of my two missing packages on the street a few blocks away from my house. Envelope is torn open, shirt missing, and envelope and sticker inside just discarded on sidewalk. Second package is still MIA.No idea what happened here. Dropped by a post man and scavenged by a hobo? Stolen from post office box? Planning on going to post office tomorrow with the envelope and asking them what they think happened and whether a stranger opening my lost package a few blocks from where I left it with the USPS's box is of any importance to them. moonbeams
