forbenator
http://shop.temporaryresidence.com/explosions-in-the-sky They're all great, and at these prices... you should just snag them all!!
sharkticon
The Earth Is Not A Cold Dead Place The LP is CD sourced though. No real benefit in having it over a cd or high quality download. drds89, thesewoodenideas and morfiend

Green Tea Papi
They are all great albums, but Take Care, Take Care, Take Care or The Earth Is Not A Cold Dead Place would be my favorites. also the Take Care vinyl turns into a house.
Guest
How Strange, Innocence. Not really a fan of the band but I do like that album.
psus2h
Is their stuff similar to what Reznor and Atticus Ross have done together in regards to instrumentals ? I am intrigued by this band but have not heard much other than short samples.
drds89
The Earth Is Not A Cold Dead Place The LP is CD sourced though. No real benefit in having it over a cd or high quality download. I own none of their vinyl, the only CD I have is TEINACDP, but have bought at least a couple of tracks of the other albums. This soundtrack thing they have going seems to be the perfect niche for them, since they have not really pushed their envelope very far, if at all. I do pick up nuances, but what they've created works, and lots of peope like them.
sonsofvipers
The one with the crescendos... lol'd. In response to the OP, I would start with the Earth is Not a Cold Dead Place, then move on to All Of A Sudden I Miss Everyone,
morfiend
The Earth Is Not A Cold Dead Place Agreed. The only somewhat weak Explosions album is "All of a Sudden I miss Everyone", the rest are great.

bathroommonkey
earth is not a cold dead place also why aren't these "what album is best" threads in the other forum?
morfiend
Same here. Only album I never got into was Those Who Tell The Truth. That one took some time but finally grew on me. Now I love it.

I am intrigued by this band but have not heard much other than short samples. Not at all really, Explosions is far more guitar oriented. If you like the more ambient, piano driven work from Reznor/Ross, I would recommend Tim Hecker, Eluvium and maybe Mamiffer. albert

sonsofvipers
Those Who Tell The Truth and Take Care x3 are also awesome in my opinion though. the Rescue and Friday Night Lights are alright, and ive really never been able to get into how strange innocence.
