controlthebleeding
or you could do what i did, i bought a fence post and painted it black and set 4 of them beneath the shelf widthwise front to back, cheap, easy, and risk free. you could always get a larger post for MAXIMUM LIFT. is that by chance a gibson SG special or a epi g310? thisthatrecords
I know I only read pages 1-10, but Ikea has made a lot of money, simply off this thread. Its pretty great.
benjo09
Thought this was the best place to post but how do people store their vinyl? In the sleeve or out of it? I'm storing the record in the paper sleeve and the insert in the card sleeve and putting them both in the plastic sleeve at the moment. What do others do? I only do that for records that give me a hardtime when it comes time to put them back, so instead of fighting i leave it outside the sleeve. benjo09
Thats the reason I do it. Did it for just the hard ones at first and then just started doing it to everyone so thats what I do now.

brokebackbrad
haha, those diaper boxes are awesome. i used to get paranoid when my girlfriends dogs would get near my records, i couldn't imagine the damage a kid could do. taking a picture of mine right now. brokebackbrad
i tried to get an expedit last weekend but all they had left what white, no thanks. so i will stick with this box i made at my last job, which is actually pretty awesome, its got 3 dividers so the weight of the records aren't all pressing against one another, and my recycle tub i stole from my last house i rented. punkrudeboy
Does anyone know if they discontinued the original 2x4 expidit design? The one they have on the website now has a bunch of little cubby storage spaces in it. *update* never mind i just checked the website and it looks like they have the regular 2x4 back up. barracuda
The record collection has been relegated to a leftover armoire in the laundry room. On the bright side its right next to the beer (juice box) fridge. I am looking to get one of the Ikea shelves to better display them in the rec room, but every time I have the money I end up spending it on records. cosmonaut
^ I like that setup actually. Pick out a record to spin, grab a beer. Repeat.
burdenx
I noticed a few people had their receiver under their turntable. This doesn't seem like a great idea and I've never done it but if I could it would be nice to have the extra space. Any reason to not do this? Seems like the heat from your receiver could damage your turntable.
mrc
I figured with that big Expedite sale at Ikea last weekend we would have a bunch of new people posting their storage areas.
preston
I'm thinking of picking up a couple of these. Does anyone have one? I'm pretty sure it'd fit records pretty well, but, then again, I'm terrible at math: http://www.target.com/4-Cube-Rolling-Storage-Espresso/dp/B000RN0GZO/sr=1-2/qid=1244146738/ref=sr_1_2/188-5437193-1184128?ie=UTF8&frombrowse=0&pricerange=&index=target&field-browse=1038576&rh=k%3Acube&page=

barracuda
My friend has a few records displayed on the wall. Thought it was a neat idea I think the pretty in pink album was a compromise with his girlfriend, at least I hope.
