I figured out my address verification problem. I moved last year and never changed my credit card address within my Paypal account. Weirdly, this has never been a problem until now, but it's fixed!

Honey is a Chrome pluggin that automatically applies any discounts that are available to any given site!

Believe me, as a librarian and person who used to release records, I handle records like babies. Honestly, most of the records I inherited from my parents are in better shape than most of the new records I've bought recently. It makes no sense.

In my experience, there isn't a single place I can pin point. I get things from local shops, when traveling, and online, all of which I've continuously had this happen.  It's kind of disheartening. Last week I bought 4 records, 2 had severe scuffing/scratching, 1 had light scuffing, 1 had some kind of chemical marking on one side making it almost unlistenable due to noise.

Ended up checking out Smash, Som and Songbird. Randomly found a new copy of Andrew Bird's Mysterious Production of Eggs at Som - Anyone know if there has been a repress since its original 2005 release? I can't seem to find any info on one, other than a listening for it on his official site. Weird.

Gotta hit SMASH! Located in the Adams Morgan area, this shop has history synonymous to the DC punk scene but not exclusive. You can find rare vinyl, metal, jazz, rock and retro clothing items. If you bump into Matt you'll have good conversation as well. Take a few minutes to check out the collection of local band flyers on the walls and ceilings. If you go, tell him the video guy sent cha. I recently bought a Rogue Cronus Magnum II after seemingly ill considered foray into solid state.  I'm not 100% sold on the Cronus.  
 

haha sorry man! I was there 10 minutes before they opened on Friday and there was probably 50-75 people in line before me! It was a friggen mad house. Took me about an hour and a half to get through the cash out line! I had my eye on a few things (Scream soundtrack, Pixies record), both which didn't make it until the 50% off sale. 

The record store in my town is going down from 2 locations to 1 so they're doing 50% off everything  at the closing location this weekend.  It was 30% percent all week so it was sort of picked over, but I managed to find some good stuff. Went from some high price tag soundtracks I've been watching for awhile.

After selling my old Marantz 2252B (which I was using mainly as a phono preamp at this point) and filing my taxes, I decided to upgrade a few components. Went ahead and bought a Gram Slee Special Edition 2 phono preamp, new Audioquest Golden Gate Interconnects, and an Audio-Technica AT150Sa cartridge (formally Ortofon 2M Red).  
 
Current complete line:
Audio-Technica AT150Sa -> Thorens TD 295 mark 3 -> Gram Slee Special Edition 2 -> Audioquest Golden Gate Interconnects -> Marantz SR5005 -> 2 Axiom M60 v2

I've successfully stayed away, not so much out of want, but out of necessity. 
Things that are new with me since last visiting a few years back:
- I got married
- I started an ongoing film series here in Buffalo called Cultivate Cinema Circle
- I am managing a makerspace and recording studio that are both free and open to the public at the Buffalo downtown library
- I am writing quite a lot of film criticism for a number of outlets and festivals
- I moved to a smaller, nicer apartment
- Thanks to my incoming tax return, I am doing some minor upgrades to my audio setup

The Samurai X/Rouini Kenshin series is also really good.

Actually, I did meet Doug Fluty once at Bills training camp a few years ago. They used to have training camp at the school I go to now, but they stopped the year before I came here.
